50 customer reviews of talabat.com

Spolid my day After my night shift I order breakfast. Delivery person called me ask for my location I eaven share my location its already there in app. But with out delivering food in there application it's showing delivered but I don't get any items. I contacted customer service but Talabat are believing there delivery guy not even considering customer concerns. AL last l lost money, I didn't get the food more over I lost my sleep.

Worst Delivery Experience - Talabat On 05/08/2021 I have placed McDonald's order for delivery through Talabat. As shown in the "order summary" I have placed an order for Large Chicken Mac Meal (Without Lettuce, Without Mayonnaise, Without American Cheese). Basically, a plain sandwich for my 10 year old son. When I received the delivery, the bag was sealed having the delivery receipt on the outside mentioning the same order details as shown on my Talabat order. When my son opened the order to enjoy his meal he found a SPICY Grand Chicken Sandwich with extra Jalapeños and all add ons. I have called Talabat and informed them that I received a wrong order and send them the photo of the sandwich pack + the receipt on the sandwich packaging (which has all the details of the sandwich). At 1:30am I received a call back from Talabat Customer Service informing me that Talabat also need a photo of the INGREDIENTS INSIDE THE SANDWICH! I informed the customer service that is the most ridiculous request I have ever received. You are calling me 1:30am asking for photo of the INGREDIENTS! Though I have went an extra mile and provided a photo of what I received. Any reputable delivery company that has the bare minimum standards will apologise for this and have the meal replaced (which costs AED 32/-). However, I was shocked when the customer service informed me that they will not be able to replace without photo of the INGREDIENTS. I informed him how about also sending someone to taste the sandwich and check whether it is spicy or not! If there is a minus rating I would have given for this review but unfortunately "0" is the minimum. Not for the meal that was wasted or the value of the meal but for the type of response you get from these companies and how they respond back to customers. Such companies should not be allowed to operate without having minimum standards for consumer rights, supervision and customer satisfaction.

Very Poor Service! One star is not enough! So we are WAITING for our order and turns out that it's CANCELLED. No one informs me or CALLED me that Talabat will cancel it. I contacted the live chat of Talabat to find out it's CANCELLED! TALABAT SAID THE PROBLEM IS IN KFC. KFC SAID THE PROBLE Woow! And what are you going to do to us, customers that are complaining? Tossing or passing to each other Talabat or KFC? No one fixed this problem! NO one! This is NOT THE 1st TIME Talabat! WHAT A SERVICE!

DO NOT ORDER FROM TALABAT! YET AGAIN! Yes again! Talabat messed up the order then during the next 2 hrs after my order was placed promised to call me back. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Robotic, like they're reading off a script. Won't answer yes or no when I ask if I will receive a replacement order. Then ask ME to call THEM back in 15 mins if the order doesn't arrive again. Only for it never to be replaced anyway. The last time I waited 4 hours. Both occasions the order was just 1 small pizza for 1 person. I can't imagine how they'd cope with a big order. Contact: http://www.consumerrights.ae/en/Consumers/MakeFormalcomplaint/Pages/default.aspx for any complaints guys! They are making a bad name for the UAE. They should not be trading! Talabat app now deleted. Stick to Deliveroo - awesome service!

They dont even deserve 1 star! Talabat has the worst customer service agents, Talabat dont respond well to complaints. I had 3 incidents in 1 week that happened with different restaurants which my colleagues and I had ordered through talabat, there is no such thing as following up with an order, talabat doesnt communicate with the restaurant. The first incident was that after i complained that its been more than 1 hour and a half since I ordered then only talabat checked with the restaurant and found out that the restaurant did not even recieve the order, which led to them bringing it after 3 hours. The second incident was with pizza hut where again it took around 3 hours and several phone calls to talabat which also we found out that the restaurant had received the order from talabat after 3 hours. The last incident was today with a mandi restaurant where the payment was done online with a credit card and after over an hour i contacted talabat again to ask about my order and they said that restaurant cant deliver it anytime soon, I then called the restaurant myself to make sure and they told me clearly that when they received the order from talabat they contacted them directly and told them that they wont be able to deliver but unfortunately because of talabat's poor customer service they did not inform me until i had to call them and ask. I made sure that I will put a very bad review everywhere about talabat and will make sure to spread this story.

Terrible Service I had to wait over 2hrs for my food to be delivered. Not only that, it was missing an item. Talabat said they would give me 8AED, but only if I register to their website. They don't have a tracking system. Only chat & email. I had to follow-up many times. Plus, the agent said the delivery was complete. If it was complete, do they think I would complain? The restaurant I ordered from said in their cctv, the missing item was placed in the bag. If that was the case, then it's the driver who has the problem. The attached email is insinuating it.

Overcharged and refusing to refund I have ordered many times from this app and never had any issues. Unfortunately, I ordered two different takeaways on one evening, but got charged 4 times for 2 orders. I sent over my bank statement to customer services which clearly shows 4 charges for 2 orders and Talabat are refusing to give me a refund for the overcharging. They have robbed me of my money (which would be very easy for them to see on their system that they've overcharged) but instead of refunding me, I have received patronising emails. Awful awful company. Do not use them or you'll be scammed.

Horrible service Wish I could give them minus points. Tried ordering from a restaurant from which I previously ordered and it says selected area is not accurate. After chatting with Talabat customer service staff he says the restaurant doesn't deliver at your location when the restaurant still shows that it does deliver at my location before I could say anything else the chat was logged off. The food when it's delivered takes around 90 mins easily.my suggestion would be to stop using this app as it's not professional like uber eats in certain countries. I tried Talabat in Qatar btw where there are hardly other food delivery apps unfortunately. However, I will be trying the app Carriage heard its better than Talabat. Save yourselves the horror guys and don't order from this app.

Poor quality company. This company has never took customer complaints into concern, Money is all what Talabat think about. I have had several food delivery delays with multiple restaurants, some of them even took up to 3 hours, and everytime I contact Talabat customer service, I get same automated messages. In conclusion,: 0 standards for approved restaurants within their Database. Never take customer complaints into concern. False promises that are given each time. My advice would be to use other websites such as zomato or foodonclick.

Pathetic service. I placed an order for 107 aed and the money was deducted from my account immediately. An hour later, a rep from Talabat called to say the restaurant had not received my order so it would take another hour but the food will be delivered. Another hour later, I get a call from another rep saying the restaurant still hasnt received my order and payment. I was given the option to cancel the order and was informed that the money would be refunded in 5-7 working days. I will not use the service again.

All I got was become hungrier and very angry It has been almost 3 hours and still no food in sight. Talking to their chat bot is like talking to a brick. Talabat have no edit option on the order. They could learn some ecommerce lessons from EatEasily which has consistently fast reliable service seriously. Shame on me for trying out another service. I should've checked out reviews before I tried out Talabat. I am so freakin hangry now. They should know more than to piss off hungry people!

Awful Talabat is unreliable and the customer service is awful. My parents were away and me and my brother were starving and decided to order food. I hate talking on the phone so we used Talabat. I ordered a burger for my brother and mention it have no onion, ketchup, or pickle. The site didn't recognise this and it came with all three of those things. We took this up with customer service and Talabat were extremely rude and patronising, refusing to admit their website had glitched. They refused to replace the order with a new one. Awful service indeed.

Absolutely the worst online food service in GCC Everytime I order food from this website it takes well over an hour to be delivered and the food is frozen or soggy by the time it arrives, the customer service is absolutely terrible, their time management is even worse. When u place an order and your order has been cancelled because Talabat do not have an item, they don't even notify you. Basically you just sit around hoping for something to arrive and it arrives in the worst format. Strongly recommend to use another online food delivery service this is by far the worst there is!

Third Chance... Still Fail Miserably Talabat is the most pathetic online food order company i have ever dealt with with zero customer service. I wish I could post a screenshot of how ridiculous Talabat are. They make me wait for 15 minutes to get a simple response, and then they take more time, at which point kept messaging them back. What does Mostafa from Talabat do? Disconnects the chat. Well done Talabat. I will now use Talabat just to see what is close by my house and order directly from restaurant.

Worst delivery ever Extremely bad and unprofessional customer service. It's a rip off. Talabat charge you and then the restaurant declines the order simply because the restaurant has broke its deal with Talabat. However, Talabat did not remove the restaurant from their list. They promise that money will be refunded which never happens. When you contact them about that they claim money was refunded but it doesn't appear on your card statement which is simply a big lie. Moreover, you place the order online but your address doesn't show to the restaurant and they have to call to complete missing information. In addition to delays. In short it's the worst delivery service ever. Never again

Zero intelligence and zero costumer servixe For the past two years I order frequently from talabat and every time I get the shop to call me for address and directions and then the driver calls and tries to find my house again! Be it Arabic speaking or english speaking Talabat fail every single time to get it! I love in beda. And everyone in kuwait knows Bedaa is one block yet they employ drivers that are ignorant and most of the time can't read The problem is in the talabat service because instead of being a dumb call center or a dumb online site, they should have incorporated some systems to use google location, tracking system, order delivery process evaluation! I honest to god don't u deratanding why rocket Internet paid 170million for If anyone has the money please open a competition to talabat and use proper ordering and tracking system and u ll see how u ll make millions

Read Request Column and Train Delivery People with Politeness Every time we order, we add in the "Request" column to bring change to a particular bill, and every time this sour faced delivery person of Hot Pot would ask "no small bill?" and would insist to give him a small bill. The request is even printed on the receipt! These delivery restaurants should make it a standard to give their delivery people "funds" for possible need for change or better yet, read the Request column properly. We will not request for change if we have the exact amount available. Yesterday was the worst, he complained that his other customers would just give him the change! We really like the food from Hot Pot, but if this attitude and inefficiency continue, who would like to patronise them more. Please remind them to do what is right and send polite delivery people.

Terrible service, giving misleading information to customers Order was late, 1,30 hour after order has been placed driver calls asking me for the address even though it's there, clearly written on the app. He is telling me to call Talabat and change my address and I didn't understood what was going on. I've contacted Talabat through a chat(since you cannot actually call them) and after checking agent is saying there is a road closure and the driver can't come, it's to far. Talabat said also someome from Talabat will call me in 7-10 minutes to resolve this(which later happened but after half an hour). There was no road closure as I checked every possible very accurate and always updated map. Second chat with them, they connected me to the restaurant from which we ordered the food, who was saying that the driver is not assigned yet (2 hours after an actual order placement), although the driver already called me half an hour earlier to ask me for the address. No sorry, no explanation, nothing, very rude and unprofessional as well. After that I get a call from Talabat saying sorry and how driver had an accident and couldn't come. 4 different stories from 4 different persons. Spent 1,30 hour of my time at 1 in the morning trying to solve the mystery of my food, instead of them calling me on time(even if there are any problems) and notifying me about the order that I paid for and that as a consumer have the right to know. If I haven't started chat in the first place, probably I would wait for my food until the morning and still not get it. Super unprofessional, with bad attitude and giving totally unreliable and misleading information to the customers who are paying for their services. Deleted the app and I would not recommend it to anyone in this world.

Avoid Talabat or Die of Hunger! I have ordered Dominoz Pizza form Talabat and i would like to say that the service of Talabat is beyond terrible. The resturant calls me after one hour, after i have called talabat and complained of my late order, and mentioned that Talabat did not understand my order and they will need another 45 mins to process the order. The resturant blames it on Talabat and talabat blames it on the resturant. Not just that the service is quite inadequate, but they do not even take responsibility for their lack of service. If you want your order experience to be atleast simple, avoid talabat and just call the resturant directly.

Awful Talabat customer services, horrible never arrived Mc Donal delivery I advise everyone to avoid ordering food on Talabat. Talabat used to have reasonably good services, but lately, their service is awful. They are unprofessional and do not care about their customers—horrible and unprofessional customer service. I ordered from Mc Donald ( never again), and I paid with a credit card and have never received the order. Mc Donald used one of the most inept and incompetent drivers who could not find a central location in Salmiya. I contacted them only to hear mechanically repeated words, such as " don't worry, we will solve the problem. They stated that a team would take care of it. The team has never contacted me, and I have never received neither the food nor the money. Be aware and do not order through them. It will be a waste of your time, money, and energy. I requested to talk to a supervisor, and of course, they gave me a runaround. They are highly disrespectful, uncivilized, and do not care about their customers. Order at your own risk! I will never use the services of such incompetent, unprofessional, and disrespectful people!

General services We constantly where using Talabat for servicing. Lately there it just no service at all. Contacted them on Thursday ( which we are aware is a busy night at 6.46pm) Order to be delivered in one hour. After 45 min. The tracking serviced said it was delivered. Call the call centre which immediately apologies and said Talabat would get back to us. Immediately offered a fee of QR20 for the inconvenience. Nothing happened. We contacted them again and similar. Apologies and they would get back to us. This is after 2 hrs. Contacted them again. Similar to previous response. We were then told that the specificic restaurant does not pick up there phone. After three hours we requested to talk to a manager. We had a call from a lady called Isa which again similar to all the other apologies and offer us another QR20 for the inconvenience. Again were told that the restaurant does not answer the phone. There are many similar restaurants available in the same area. We were then asked if they need to cancel the order. Never they offered to order it from another place. We cancelled it as most of the people went to sleep as now it was over 3.5 hours since we ordered. Please train the employes to look for options and not to apologies offer a fee and nothing else. Appreciated your urgent comments

Ridiculous! I placed an order through these guys for a Burger king to only get a call to say Talabat cant deliver to me and will cancel the order. Then asked to simply use the money to place another order but I was told no. They have to refund which will take up to 5-7 days and if I want food place another order. As I had no choice I did what they said. Food was delivered with my fries half eaten by the delivery man smh couldnt believe it. Emailed to complain... No response. Since then I have spoken to their so called customer service every week and I'm repeatedly been told it will take 5-7 days for refund of the first order. Its now over a month and yet to see my money. Absolutely ridiculous! And the worse part is noooo complaints department... Don't waste your time. Keep my money you idiots. Incompetence all round!

Terrible service Terrible service! Was waiting for my order for 2 hrs and had to call them twice to check on it! My order has been confirmed as soon as I ordered it but apparently it never went through even though I was charged! It clearly said that it was confirmed on the application! The restaurant called me 3 hrs later to inform me that the order was just arrived! Don't order from them! Useless

The worst app for ordering food Every time I am ordering food from talabat i got very cold food with a big delay I don't know why Talabat are not writing the correct waiting time They have a very unprofessional customer service I contacted them regarding my order delay They said that they will give a gift 8 AED instead of the delay And i told them that I don't want the 8 AED because it worth nothing since my order value is around 150 AED. And it will come cold The customer service ignored me and added that 8 AED and he knows that I don't want them So ignoring the customer decision is not a behavior of the customer service! And at the end i got my food which was very cold after waiting around one and hours ( before ordering it was written it needs only 35 minutes) And i gave them another chance but the same thing happened Very poor application

The worst experience I have been travelling all day and just arrived jn Dubai! I ordered food over two hours ago and nothing has arrived! The number does not go through and i am 16th in line on their live chat option! This is by far the WORST company i have ordered from! We a have 2yr old who is hungry and we are so angry! Talabat have taken the money and there is no sign of the food! Please DO NOT order from this place! IT IS THE NOT WORTH IT!

Misleading... It's my first time to order from Talabat and would be my last. I know my area DWC is quite far and very less options of restaurants which deliver here. When i checked Talabat, Talabat showed they are delivering to DWC area, i was happy and excited, ordered from Shanghai Station and they immediately accepted the order and prepared the food. After 1 hour, i got a call confirming my location, 2nd call telling that the food is on its way and 3rd call telling they cannot deliver as it's very far and they will cancel the order. Amazing right! Well i don't want to elaborate more but i've never been this disappointed to add that you're really hungry and craving for something. If you don't want to experience the same, call the restaurant directly (good lesson for me too)

Terrible, never order from Talabt again I used to order from 24h.ae However, this 24.ae has been acquired by Talabt. I tried to order 2 times from Talabat. My god, delivery was late and worst customer service. I really don't know why such a good company 24h are acquired by Talabat. It is a seamless service from log into the website until you get your food delivered. When it comes to Talabat, each step you run into problems and problems. You should close down Talabat and bring the old team of 24h. If you do not know how to operate website for food delivery, please don't do it. You are wasting so many customers' times and make everyone angry. Close down and bring back 24h.

Disappointing For the second time in the row an hour after placing my order I contact the restaurant and Talabat tell me that Talabat havent gave them my order I check my track your order on the app and it shows that my order has been placed I called Talabat and they blame the restaurant but my previous order was with another restaurant so the fault is definitely with Talabat. Terrible customer care very disappointing

Worst service ever Honestly the worst experience ever. The food was late by double the time promised by them. The app kept sending me notifications that the restaurant will contact me (it didn't). Moreover, I tried talking to a customer service agent through the live chat but it did not allow me! When I tried calling the hotline it said that all agents are busy with other customers and that I should try the live chat... seriously! This is in the UAE.

Absolutely deplorable service I ordered at 3:58. Around an hour later, I contacted Talabat customer service to inquire about my order. I was told to give it another few minutes since it had not been quite an hour. About 15 minutes later, it had been over an hour and I wanted to make sure the delivery instructions were clear. Talabat told me to wait until after prayer. I waited until 5:40 pm and contacted Talabat again only to be told that my order was canceled because no one answered the phone, which is an absolute lie. I had been inside my flat all during that time and nobody called me.

This company is misleading and loath to resolve issues. It does not pay its drivers well nor does it address incorrect meal orders, rather they argue with you. Very, very poor service and App

Tip for consumers: Best use an alternative App with the appropriate customer service values

Online staff is very incompetent. They don't have willingness to retain customer at all. NAWAZ T did not put any efforts to talk to customer and resolve issue. Very disappointed services, for a order need to wait more than an hour there's no response from the customer service. Wasting of our time and food will get cold So please don't cheat the people if u can't keep the promises before you giving. I will never choose through talabat next time.

Talabat, Everything you need to know about the MENA’s food delivery giant

On-Demand apps are gaining popularity, particularly food delivery apps. With millennials turning online to order food from the local restaurants rather than traditional eating, the focus is shifting to hyperlocal on-demand food delivery. Talabat is one of MENA’s on-demand food delivery apps giants, which provides a wide range of limitless cuisines from its restaurants.

What you’ll learn ahead:

  • History of Talabat
  • Talabat’s Business Model
  • Talabat’s revenue model
  • Features for a Talabat like app
  • Cost of making an app like Talabat

Talabat

Talabat – The Origin

Talabat started in 2004 with the vision to make food delivery an effortless experience for both the customers and restaurant owners. It has revolutionized the concept of food delivery in the MENA region. From the time of modems advancing to seamless technology, it provides its customers with easy and fast delivery, accurate tracking, and two communication channels between customer and delivery agent.

According to CrunchBase , Talabat acquired Zomato in 2019 for 172 Mn, which helped them gain the majority market share, forcing UberEats to close their operations in these regions.

Talabat, which started as a food delivery app, now also delivers groceries, pharmaceuticals, etc., and has been venturing into qcommerce by providing deliveries to its customers in 30 mins or less.

Now Talabat is the largest food delivery and grocery delivery platform in the MENA region. It operates in 7 countries through GCC, namely, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, and Jordan.

The business model of Talabat

Talabat’s business model is based on-demand hyperlocal delivery service with a majority focus on the food delivery sector. Talabat uses best-in-class technology to bridge the gap between the restaurant owner and the customer, thereby providing customers a smooth purchase experience.

Talabat has both a website and a mobile application. Customers can order food or groceries using either of them. Apart from ordering food from the nearby restaurants, it also shows the menu of the restaurants to the customers to help them choose from a variety of dishes.

The general flow of how every on-demand hyperlocal service works is very similar to other aggregator platforms. A restaurant partners with Talabat and gets listed on the app. The customer registers on the app and selects a restaurant for ordering. Once the order is placed, it is sent to the restaurant. The restaurant starts preparing the order, and a delivery agent is assigned to pick up the order from the restaurant and deliver it to the customer. During all this, the customer gets a notification about each step of the process and can track their order.

How does Talabat make money?

Talabat has a three-pronged approach to its revenue model, where the revenue comes from 3 sources:

  • Commissions on orders
  • Delivery Charge
  • Advertisements

Commissions:

Talabat takes 15% – 25% commission from the restaurant’s order bill. It also offers restaurants a reduction of 5% to 10% on commission if they opt for exclusivity. This helps them with getting exclusive restaurants and decreases competition in the market.

Delivery Charge:

Talabat has no minimum order size for delivery requirements, which helps them get orders of all sizes. The delivery charge decreases as the order size increases.

Advertisements:

Talabat monetizes advertisements in two ways:

  • Banner Ads: This involves showing the restaurant ads on the banner, which provides restaurants more coverage.
  • Priority Listings: This helps restaurants to get listed in the top 5 listings, which helps them gain visibility in front of customers. Customers generally order from the topmost listings, thus, allowing the restaurant to gain more customers.

how to write a review in talabat

Create a form in Word that users can complete or print

In Word, you can create a form that others can fill out and save or print.  To do this, you will start with baseline content in a document, potentially via a form template.  Then you can add content controls for elements such as check boxes, text boxes, date pickers, and drop-down lists. Optionally, these content controls can be linked to database information.  Following are the recommended action steps in sequence.

Show the Developer tab

In Word, be sure you have the Developer tab displayed in the ribbon.  (See how here:  Show the developer tab .)

Open a template or a blank document on which to base the form

You can start with a template or just start from scratch with a blank document.

Start with a form template

Go to File > New .

In the  Search for online templates  field, type  Forms or the kind of form you want. Then press Enter .

In the displayed results, right-click any item, then select  Create.

Start with a blank document

Select Blank document .

Add content to the form

Go to the  Developer  tab Controls section where you can choose controls to add to your document or form. Hover over any icon therein to see what control type it represents. The various control types are described below. You can set properties on a control once it has been inserted.

To delete a content control, right-click it, then select Remove content control  in the pop-up menu.

Note:  You can print a form that was created via content controls. However, the boxes around the content controls will not print.

Insert a text control

The rich text content control enables users to format text (e.g., bold, italic) and type multiple paragraphs. To limit these capabilities, use the plain text content control .

Click or tap where you want to insert the control.

Rich text control button

To learn about setting specific properties on these controls, see Set or change properties for content controls .

Insert a picture control

A picture control is most often used for templates, but you can also add a picture control to a form.

Picture control button

Insert a building block control

Use a building block control  when you want users to choose a specific block of text. These are helpful when you need to add different boilerplate text depending on the document's specific purpose. You can create rich text content controls for each version of the boilerplate text, and then use a building block control as the container for the rich text content controls.

building block gallery control

Select Developer and content controls for the building block.

Developer tab showing content controls

Insert a combo box or a drop-down list

In a combo box, users can select from a list of choices that you provide or they can type in their own information. In a drop-down list, users can only select from the list of choices.

combo box button

Select the content control, and then select Properties .

To create a list of choices, select Add under Drop-Down List Properties .

Type a choice in Display Name , such as Yes , No , or Maybe .

Repeat this step until all of the choices are in the drop-down list.

Fill in any other properties that you want.

Note:  If you select the Contents cannot be edited check box, users won’t be able to click a choice.

Insert a date picker

Click or tap where you want to insert the date picker control.

Date picker button

Insert a check box

Click or tap where you want to insert the check box control.

Check box button

Use the legacy form controls

Legacy form controls are for compatibility with older versions of Word and consist of legacy form and Active X controls.

Click or tap where you want to insert a legacy control.

Legacy control button

Select the Legacy Form control or Active X Control that you want to include.

Set or change properties for content controls

Each content control has properties that you can set or change. For example, the Date Picker control offers options for the format you want to use to display the date.

Select the content control that you want to change.

Go to Developer > Properties .

Controls Properties button

Change the properties that you want.

Add protection to a form

If you want to limit how much others can edit or format a form, use the Restrict Editing command:

Open the form that you want to lock or protect.

Select Developer > Restrict Editing .

Restrict editing button

After selecting restrictions, select Yes, Start Enforcing Protection .

Restrict editing panel

Advanced Tip:

If you want to protect only parts of the document, separate the document into sections and only protect the sections you want.

To do this, choose Select Sections in the Restrict Editing panel. For more info on sections, see Insert a section break .

Sections selector on Resrict sections panel

If the developer tab isn't displayed in the ribbon, see Show the Developer tab .

Open a template or use a blank document

To create a form in Word that others can fill out, start with a template or document and add content controls. Content controls include things like check boxes, text boxes, and drop-down lists. If you’re familiar with databases, these content controls can even be linked to data.

Go to File > New from Template .

New from template option

In Search, type form .

Double-click the template you want to use.

Select File > Save As , and pick a location to save the form.

In Save As , type a file name and then select Save .

Start with a blank document

Go to File > New Document .

New document option

Go to File > Save As .

Go to Developer , and then choose the controls that you want to add to the document or form. To remove a content control, select the control and press Delete. You can set Options on controls once inserted. From Options, you can add entry and exit macros to run when users interact with the controls, as well as list items for combo boxes, .

Adding content controls to your form

In the document, click or tap where you want to add a content control.

On Developer , select Text Box , Check Box , or Combo Box .

Developer tab with content controls

To set specific properties for the control, select Options , and set .

Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each control that you want to add.

In Self-Deprecating Return to ‘The Daily Show’, Jon Stewart Beats His Critics to the Punch: TV Review

By Alison Herman

Jon Stewart

These similarities are lost on no one, least of all Stewart himself. Apart from an extended runtime and a quick appearance by former correspondent Jordan Klepper, there was little to announce tonight’s episode as a major event or break from routine. From the monologue to the staged “field” segment to the interview to the Moment of Zen, the run of show proceeded as usual — or rather, as it usually did until 2015, the last time Stewart occupied the chair. The primary feeling was not of triumphant return or even nostalgia, but déjà vu. For long stretches, it was as if Stewart had never made an abortive attempt at an animated news show for HBO, nor made an Emmy-nominated series for Apple TV+ until the tech company flinched at potential controversy . You could almost believe Stewart had stayed fixed in the seat where he still clearly feels comfortable, cuing up montages of news clips and grimacing at political gaffes.

Until, that is, Stewart used himself as an example. For nearly 20 minutes, the comedian expounded on the absurdity of a rematch between two men who had already been the oldest presidential candidates in American history. Then he turned to the camera. “Look at me,” he urged. “Look what time hath wrought.” Despite being decades younger than either Trump or Biden, Stewart could still recognize the obvious joke: politicians aren’t the only ones who have problems passing the torch.

Jokes at Stewart’s expense helped to dispel the initial awkwardness, but they don’t resolve the fundamental tension underlying everything from the election to Bob Iger’s second stint at Disney to Stewart’s own full-circle moment. We’re at a crossroads where systems are stuck in a loop, running their own expired playbooks to increasingly diminished returns. “The Daily Show” itself runs on a network with increasingly little original programming, owned by a conglomerate frantically searching for a new owner as its value grows progressively smaller. Bringing Stewart back is a momentary bright spot, but there’s still another three days a week of episodes to fill. What are those going to look like, and for how long until a longer-term solution comes along — if it ever does?

Anyone who has living memories of the War on Terror is powerless to resist Stewart’s particular blend of cynicism and moral righteousness. Yet the lack of pomp and circumstance around his return means that its meta aspects become the most meaningful. Stewart could mock Biden’s fraying faculties or point out Trump’s infinite shortcomings in his sleep. It’s not the punchlines themselves that help demonstrate the snake-eating-its-tail absurdity of the current news cycle. It’s the man delivering them, and how many times we’ve seen him before.

This Is Me … Now: A Love Story review – JLo’s bombastic ode to love and herself

Star’s self-funded big swing is a mix of over-produced music videos and self-help advice but showcases her undeniable screen magnetism

I t might not have scored her the Oscar nomination she deserved ( and hungered for ) but Jennifer Lopez’s canny, all-guns-blazing performance in Hustlers was still a validating win for an actor, and a fanbase, who sorely needed one. Lopez had been the best thing in a cascade of increasingly middling movies, her career defined by the inability to take a risk, to be unlikable or messy or inelegant, and so the star’s rougher, more interesting edges had been sanded down to nothing.

Her latest project is, in a way, all risk, something that’s become front and centre of her recent press tour, when Lopez revealed that her $20m big bet – a hokey, hard-to-define cinematic accompaniment to her new album – is self-funded. While it might not feel like money well spent from afar (this is surely not a film intended for a wide audience), it’s less about what we get from watching it and more about what she seems to have got from making and co-writing it. This would usually be how one describes the worst kind of vanity project and while there are certainly a lot of markers here, the whole endeavour is far too harmless and far too proudly sentimental to fully deserve such a traditionally mean-spirited definition.

This Is Me … Now: A Love Story is a lot of things. It’s part visual album, part “warts-and-all” autobiography, part animated Puerto Rican myth, part sci-fi epic, part celebrity satire and part self-help exercise. It’s inarguably too many parts to make something that feels whole, a chaotic and rushed journey through the mind of a megastar who prefers to keep her real self in the shade (her staggeringly candid, yet briefly ruinous, Movieline interview from 1998 remains the most honest and funny representation of her we’ve ever seen). Lopez plays herself as she glides from therapy sessions with Fat Joe (lol), hangouts with her beautiful yet concerned friends, a string of unsuccessful relationships and musical sequences that riff on everything from Silo to Cloud Atlas to Singin’ in the Rain. All of this is overseen by the Zodiac Council, watching and judging from above, allowing for definitely-not-shot-in-the-same-room cameos from Jane Fonda, Post Malone, Keke Palmer and Trevor Noah among others. We hear new songs from her album, a sequel to 2002’s This Is Me … Then, and we allegedly learn more about Lopez’s thoughts, fears and anxieties in an on-her-terms tell-all that really doesn’t tell us all that much.

Lopez’s 2022 doc Halftime , hinged on the lead-up to her Super Bowl performance, was one of the more entertaining pop star docs of late. It was still airbrushed and tightly micromanaged of course, but gave just about enough reality for us to feel as if the walls had been briefly lowered, if only by the smallest of whiskers. The closest we get here is Lopez admitting she loves too hard and too much (OK), the film existing for the most part because of her reunion with Ben Affleck, who appears as a Fox News-adjacent pundit Rex Stone (OK!), her real-life happy ending requiring an on-screen equivalent. What’s positioned as sly self-awareness is mostly just a recital of facts – Lopez has been married four times, Lopez is a serial monogamist, Lopez is addicted to romance etc.

It’s not the act of raw honesty it thinks it is and it’s certainly not a successful visual album; Lopez’s new songs all sound hopelessly middle-of-the-road – over-produced and under-written, stuck in the early 2000s, a time when her music did have a genuine, exciting electricity. The visuals are similarly dated, summoning the spirit of the sorts of synthetic pop and R&B videos that would litter TRL at the time, green-screened to the point of surreality, a strange place to stay for longer than three minutes, let alone over an hour. The movie exists in a world not of our own, as if Lopez has died and this is what heaven would be for her, digital over-perfection defining a film that’s supposed to be about embracing harsh truths.

There are bizarre pleasures to be had along the way – Lopez watching The Way We Were and mouthing every word of dialogue uttered by her self-confessed idol; Lopez turning a love addicts therapy session managed by Sound of Metal’s Paul Raci into a dance sequence; Lopez concocting an action sequence around a giant steampunk version of her heart as it’s dangerously low on petals; Post Malone flirting with Jane Fonda – but never enough to turn the film into the bizarro trainwreck the trailer might have suggested. It’s not really much of anything in the end, and feels most like a stitched together collection of pre-filmed awards show bits, working best as yet more proof of Lopez’s considerable screen magnetism. She’s a joy to watch, a pro at elevating something that should be beneath her, even when it has come from her own hand. If this is Lopez as she is now, willing to take a certain kind of risk, then let’s hope she’s willing to take more.

Google’s Gemini is now in everything. Here’s how you can try it out.

Gmail, Docs, and more will now come with Gemini baked in. But Europeans will have to wait before they can download the app.

  • Will Douglas Heaven archive page

In the biggest mass-market AI launch yet, Google is rolling out Gemini , its family of large language models, across almost all its products, from Android to the iOS Google app to Gmail to Docs and more. You can also now get your hands on Gemini Ultra, the most powerful version of the model, for the first time.

With this launch, Google is sunsetting Bard , the company's answer to ChatGPT. Bard, which has been powered by a version of Gemini since December, will now be known as Gemini too.

ChatGPT , released by Microsoft-backed OpenAI just 14 months ago, changed people’s expectations of what computers could do. Google, which has been racing to catch up ever since, unveiled its Gemini family of models in December. They are multimodal large language models that can interact with you via voice, image, and text. Google claimed that its own benchmarking showed that Gemini could outperform OpenAI's multimodal model, GPT-4, on a range of standard tests. But the margins were slim.

By baking Gemini into its ubiquitous products, Google is hoping to make up lost ground. “Every launch is big, but this one is the biggest yet,” Sissie Hsiao, Google vice president and general manager of Google Assistant and Bard (now Gemini), said in a press conference yesterday. “We think this is one of the most profound ways that we’re going to advance our company’s mission.”

But some will have to wait longer than others to play with Google’s new toys. The company has announced rollouts in the US and East Asia but said nothing about when the Android and iOS apps will come to the UK or the rest of Europe. This may be because the company is waiting for the EU’s new AI Act to be set in stone, says Dragoș Tudorache, a Romanian politician and member of the European Parliament, who was a key negotiator on the law.

“We’re working with local regulators to make sure that we’re abiding by local regime requirements before we can expand,” Hsiao said. “Rest assured, we are absolutely working on it and I hope we’ll be able to announce expansion very, very soon.”

How can you get it? Gemini Pro, Google’s middle-tier model that has been available via Bard since December, will continue to be available for free on the web at gemini.google.com (rather than bard.google.com). But now there is a mobile app as well.

If you have an Android device, you can either download the Gemini app or opt in to an upgrade in Google Assistant. This will let you call up Gemini in the same way that you use Google Assistant: by pressing the power button, swiping from the corner of the screen, or saying “Hey, Google!” iOS users can download the Google app, which will now include Gemini.

Gemini will pop up as an overlay on your screen, where you can ask it questions or give it instructions about whatever’s on your phone at the time, such as summarizing an article or generating a caption for a photo.

Finally, Google is launching a paid-for service called Gemini Advanced. This comes bundled in a subscription costing $19.99 a month that the company is calling the Google One Premium AI Plan. It combines the perks of the existing Google One Premium Plan, such as 2TB of extra storage, with access to Google's most powerful model, Gemini Ultra, for the first time. This will compete with OpenAI’s paid-for service, ChatGPT Plus, which buys you access to the more powerful GPT-4 (rather than the default GPT-3.5) for $20 a month.

At some point soon (Google didn't say exactly when) this subscription will also unlock Gemini across Google’s Workspace apps like Docs, Sheets, and Slides, where it works as a smart assistant similar to the GPT-4-powered Copilot that Microsoft is trialing in Office 365.

When can you get it? The free Gemini app (powered by Gemini Pro) is available from today in English in the US. Starting next week, you’ll be able to access it across the Asia Pacific region in English and in Japanese and Korean. But there is no word on when the app will come to the UK, countries in the EU, or Switzerland.

Gemini Advanced (the paid-for service that gives access to Gemini Ultra) is available in English in more than 150 countries, including the UK and EU (but not France). Google says it is analyzing local requirements and fine-tuning Gemini for cultural nuance in different countries. But the company promises that more languages and regions are coming.

What can you do with it? Google says it has developed its Gemini products with the help of more than 100 testers and power users. At the press conference yesterday, Google execs outlined a handful of use cases, such as getting Gemini to help write a cover letter for a job application. “This can help you come across as more professional and increase your relevance to recruiters,” said Google’s vice president for product management, Kristina Behr.

Or you could take a picture of your flat tire and ask Gemini how to fix it. A more elaborate example involved Gemini managing a snack rota for the parents of kids on a soccer team. Gemini would come up with a schedule for who should bring snacks and when, help you email other parents, and then field their replies. In future versions, Gemini will be able to draw on data in your Google Drive that could help manage carpooling around game schedules, Behr said.

But we should expect people to come up with a lot more uses themselves. “I’m really excited to see how people around the world are going to push the envelope on this AI,” Hsaio said.

Is it safe? Google has been working hard to make sure its products are safe to use. But no amount of testing can anticipate all the ways that tech will get used and misused once it is released. In the last few months, Meta saw people use its image-making app to produce pictures of Mickey Mouse with guns and SpongeBob SquarePants flying a jet into two towers. Others used Microsoft’s image-making software to create fake pornographic images of Taylor Swift .

The AI Act aims to mitigate some—but not all—of these problems. For example, it requires the makers of powerful AI like Gemini to build in safeguards, such as watermarking for generated images and steps to avoid reproducing copyrighted material. Google says that all images generated by its products will include its SynthID watermarks.

Like most companies, Google was knocked onto the back foot when ChatGPT arrived. Microsoft’s partnership with OpenAI has given it a boost over its old rival. But with Gemini, Google has come back strong: this is the slickest packaging of this generation’s tech yet.

Delivered the wrong item

Delivered the wrong item. Then after 14 calls and missed locations still didn't pick the item and no credit given yet for the order that was charged. A token of AED 15 credited to the account New Safestway Supermarket Order1310514858 for AED 48. Wasted 3 hours of my time with no resolution. I'm closing my account, will go with Deliveroo in future...a much more reliable service.

Takabat app became almost useless and not reliable especially with food orders. Support is so bad and useless and you couldn't reach easily as they couldn't help with the big problems on operations. One of the examples my order #1460880271 in Dubai, was cancelled after waiting for 50 minutes without even calling or explaining ... just "sorry order again sir, without resolve".. repeated situation.. I am shifting to delivaroo now

The worst customer service ever

The worst customer service ever, in addition to follow up on a matter, their favourite time to call you is after midnight. Sometimes even at 3am. The caller has no clue that you are sleeping, they keep ringing and when you hang up they call again and again... I really don't know what type of training they receive!

The worst service ever

The worst app ever, they never failed to surprise me how unprofessional they are, no coordination with restaurant. It took them 5 hours to bring my order.

DO NOT USE To update my last review its important to note that i was compensated my money along with extra as a voucher, unfortunately, the response took a whole week and i had to follow them everywhere to get a hold of customer service. However they still took responsibility and made up for it

That is really poor service

That is really poor service - you waited an hour to tell me the order was not coming. Not what I would expect from Talabat or Din Tai Feng. Very disappointing and 15 AED does not make up for no evening meal.

Probably the worst customer service…

Probably the worst customer service there is, their customer line employees are extremely incompetent, they had disabled their live chat but their customer line employees were completely unaware that they had disabled it and refused to believe that it was disabled, i was charged for an order that i didnt even recieve.

My card was charged without ordering…

My card was charged without ordering anything. If there is an option for zero I will take it. My money was taken off my card on the 30th Jan 2024. I tried to chat their online support (which is hidden by the way) but there was no help. No one told me why they took it off and not even tell me when they will bring it back. Only to check the platform again, they had closed the ticket as resolved and nothing was actually resolved which I reopened again , to my dismay no one has called me to explain why they took my money on groceries that I never use or even ever bought. And my money is not back on my account yet. Everyone be aware TALABAT IS NOT to be trusted. This company needs to be investigated cause it looks like am not alone. I will post this everywhere with evidence until I get my money back. It may not be too much but you took it without a svs and authority.

Bad service!!!

Bad service!!!! I placed an order on Talabat with the expectation of receiving my delivery after 30 minutes. However, to my dismay, I received a call after 30 minutes asking for confirmation of my address, even though I had already provided all the necessary details. When I expressed my frustration to customer service, they asked if I needed assistance, despite initiating the call themselves. In response, I informed them that if the delivery was going to be delayed, I would cancel my order. Surprisingly, they agreed to cancel it, which I found to be unprofessional treatment.

Date of experience : 23 January 2024

If I can rate ZERO I would

If I can rate ZERO I would. I placed my order for new years eve. They deducted my money and immediately cancelled the order. I resubmitted the order the following day 3 times again they cancelled even though their driver confirmed that he collected the items. They refund the money to talabat account even though I asked them to refund to my credit card as i will never use them again. They simply refused!! Stealing openly

Absolute scam Avoid as a Tourist

Absolute scam. DONT USE AS A GUEST OR TOURIST. YOU WONT GET YOUR ORDER 2/3 TIMES. MONEY SELECTIVELY REFUNDED,NOT TOTALLY. THEY SCAM YOU BY OMITTING ITEMS AND CHARGING PUTTING ONUS ON YOU To CHASE A NON EXISTENT CHAT FUNCTION,NO PHONE CALL CENTRE. ITS FULLY a scam. By giving partial orders the fraud on small items missed not being chased for hours by consumer to try to get a refund is how they make money. They also misrepresent the accuracy of restaurants offerings. If they say " vegan" don't be surprised if it's fully not vegan. So if you eat vegan for multiple allergies, it's dangerous, for ethics or choice, it's misrepresented.. They don't send receipts either, just fees or tax paid so you can't chase your order as a Tourist/Guest .

Date of experience : 15 November 2023

Nothing but thieves!

As I very clearly stated on the phone I will be requesting a refund through my bank under the visa guarantee. This is far from resolved. You delivered me inedible food, I contacted you straight away in November and have had to chase up the complaint over 20 times, because there is no way to contact you straight away otherwise I would have sent it straight back! The level of customer service is appalling, and I have all the evidence to back up what I am saying from the messages and emails. Issuing me a voucher as compensation is not refunding me my money. You are nothing but thieves. I will be posting me experience all over the Internet for others to read also! Absolutely shocking experience.

How Companies Should Weigh In on a Controversy

  • David M. Bersoff,
  • Sandra J. Sucher,
  • Peter Tufano

how to write a review in talabat

Executives need guidance about managing their organizations’ engagement with societal issues—including hot-button topics such as gender, climate, and racial discrimination. Success in this realm does not mean avoiding public controversy or achieving unanimous support among key stakeholders, the authors write. Rather, it results from adhering to certain processes and strategies, which they have derived from recent global survey research along with examples from managerial best practice.

They offer an approach that is anchored in data but sensitive to values and context. It can be helpful in figuring out which issues to address and how; in ameliorating disappointment among stakeholders; and in managing any potential blowback.

Data can tell you what your various stakeholders care about, they write, but judgment is necessary to act in careful consideration of conflicting preferences while being consistent with your company’s values.

A better approach to stakeholder management

Idea in Brief

The challenge.

Given today’s widespread social and political polarization, executives need better guidance as they navigate hot-button topics such as gender, climate, and racial discrimination.

The Insight

Success at handling these subjects does not mean avoiding public controversy or achieving unanimous support among key stakeholders.

Executives can take stands on issues and skillfully address both internal and external pushback if they acquire a more sophisticated understanding of their stakeholders’ concerns.

On April 1, 2023, just as the March Madness college basketball tournament was getting underway, the transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney uploaded a sponsored post to Instagram to promote Bud Light. The backlash was immediate and cut deep. The beer brand was condemned by social conservatives across the United States, who launched a boycott.

A Long-Forgotten TV Script by Rachel Carson Is Now a Picture Book

In “Something About the Sky,” the National Book Award-winning marine biologist brings her signature sense of wonder to the science of clouds.

  • Share full article

A cut-paper and sumi ink illustration shows a young boy watching a small plane as it soars through the sky trailing cirrus clouds that look like jet stream. The silhouetted boy, the plane and the clouds are cut from black and white paper. The bright sky is rendered with blue ink that fades dark to light from top to bottom.

SOMETHING ABOUT THE SKY , by Rachel Carson. Illustrated by Nikki McClure.

A cloud is a spell against indifference, an emblem of the water cycle that makes this planet a living world capable of trees and tenderness, a great cosmic gasp at the improbability that such a world exists, that across the cold expanse of space-time, strewn with billions upon billions of other star systems, there is nothing like it as far as we yet know.

Clouds are almost as old as this world, born when primordial volcanoes first exhaled the chemistry of the molten planet into the sky, but their science is younger than the steam engine. At the dawn of the 19th century, the chemist and amateur meteorologist Luke Howard, still in his 20s, noticed that clouds form in particular shapes under particular conditions. Applying the principles of the newly popular Linnaean taxonomy of the living world to clouds, he named the three main classes cumulus , stratus and cirrus , then braided them into sub-taxonomies.

When a German translation reached Goethe, the polymathic poet with a passion for morphology was so inspired that he sent fan mail to the young man who “distinguished cloud from cloud,” then composed a suite of verses about the main classes. It was Goethe’s poetry, translating the lexicon of an obscure science into the language of wonder, that popularized the cloud names we use today.

A century and a half later, six years before Rachel Carson awakened the modern ecological conscience with her book “Silent Spring” and four years after “The Sea Around Us” earned her the National Book Award (whose judges described it as “a work of scientific accuracy presented with poetic imagination”), the television program “Omnibus” approached her to write “something about the sky,” in response to a request from a young viewer.

This became the title of the segment that aired on March 11, 1956 — a soulful serenade to the science of clouds, emanating from Carson’s credo that “the more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us the less taste we shall have for the destruction of our race.”

Although celebrated for her books about the sea, Carson had begun her literary career with an eye to the sky.

She was only 11 when her story “A Battle in the Clouds” — inspired by her brother’s time in the Army Air Service during World War I — was published in the popular young people’s magazine St. Nicholas, where the early writings of Edna St. Vincent Millay, F. Scott Fitzgerald and E.E. Cummings also appeared. She eventually enrolled at Pennsylvania Women’s College, intent on majoring in English.

And then, the way all great transformations slip in through the back door of the mansion of our plans, her life took a turn that shaped her future and the history of literature.

To meet the school’s science requirement, Carson took an introductory biology course. She found herself enchanted by the subject and changed her major.

But she never lost her love of literature. “I have always wanted to write,” Carson told her lab partner late one night. “Biology has given me something to write about.”

She was also writing poetry, submitting it to various magazines and receiving rejection slip after rejection slip. Somewhere along the way — training at the Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory, working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, writing reports her boss deemed far too lyrical for a government publication and encouraged her to submit to The Atlantic Monthly — Carson realized that poetry lives in innumerable guises beyond verse.

In 1952, she would rise from the table she shared with the poet Marianne Moore to receive her National Book Award with these words: “The aim of science is to discover and illuminate truth. And that, I take it, is the aim of literature, whether biography or history or fiction. It seems to me, then, that there can be no separate literature of science.”

If there was poetry in her writing, Carson believed, it was not because she “deliberately put it there” but because no one could write truthfully about nature “and leave out the poetry.”

It was a radical idea — that truth and beauty are not in rivalry but in reciprocity, that to write about science with feeling is not to diminish its authority but to deepen it. Carson was modeling a new possibility for generations of writers to come, blurring the line between where science ends and poetry begins.

That was the ethos she took to her “Omnibus” assignment about “the writing of the wind on the sky,” detailing the science of each of the main cloud classes and celebrating them as “the cosmic symbols of a process without which life itself could not exist on earth.”

After coming upon fragments of Carson’s long-lost television script via Orion magazine, the artist Nikki McClure — who grew up immersed in nature, worked for a while at the Department of Ecology and finds daily delight in watching birds under the cedar canopy by her home — was moved to track down the complete original and bring it to life in lyrical illustrations.

Known for her singular cut-paper art, with its stark contrasts and sharp contours, she embraced the creative challenge of finding a whole new technique in order to channel the softness of the sky.

Using paper from a “long-ago” trip to Japan and sumi ink she freely applied with brushes, she let the gentle work of gravity and fluid dynamics pool and fade the mostly blue and black hues into textured layers — a process of “possibility and chance.”

Then, as she recounts in an illustrator’s note at the back of the book, she “cut images with the paper, not just from it”: “The paper and I had a conversation about what might happen.”

What emerges is a kind of tender visual poem, as boldly defiant of category as Carson’s writing.

Although Carson never wrote explicitly for children, she wrote in the language of children: wonder.

Less than a year after “Something About the Sky” aired on “Omnibus,” Carson took over the care of her orphaned grandnephew, Roger, whom she would soon legally adopt. (He’s the small boy romping across McClure’s illustrations.) In what began as an article for Woman’s Home Companion and was later expanded into her posthumously published book “The Sense of Wonder,” she wrote:

If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life, as an unfailing antidote against the boredom and disenchantments of later years, the sterile preoccupation with things that are artificial, the alienation from the sources of our strength.

NOT REFUNDED YET SINCE LAST REVIEW

NOT REFUNDED YET SINCE LAST REVIEW! If I could give you a rating of less than 1 I would. Funds were withdrawn from my account several times or blocked 1JD, on the basis that they were unlockable and were not recovered or unblocked. The bank was contacted and I was informed that the amount was withdrawn, and it is when creating an account on their APP 1JD for bank account check or something like that An order was made through their app for an amount of approximately 5 or 6 JD, which is not the large amount, and i was informed through their app that the payment process failed, and the bank informed me that the withdrawal process was completed successfully , and I contacted them on 26.27.03.2023, and they informed me that yes, the amount was withdrawn for the amount . The amount will be refunded within 5 to 7 working days, and until this moment, nothing has been refunded. Each time they just say we escalated. Also, the prices on their app are much times higher than the prices of the restaurant or any shops, so I recommend using another application for orders.

Unreliable & Insulting - Talabat's Unethical Practice

I recently had the displeasure of using Talabat's food delivery service, & I must say that my experience was nothing short of abysmal. Not only did they demand additional charges after I had already paid for my order in full using my credit card, but their delivery person had the audacity to insult me by implying that I didn't have enough money left on my card. This level of unprofessionalism & unethical behavior is absolutely unacceptable, & I feel compelled to warn others about the pitfalls of using Talabat. First & foremost, the fact that Talabat would ask for additional charges after an order has been paid for in full is a clear indication of their incompetence & lack of transparency. This is not only inconvenient for the customer, but it reeks of a company that is more concerned with squeezing every last dime out of its patrons than providing a reliable & honest service. Furthermore, the behavior of their delivery person was nothing short of disgraceful. Instead of handling the situation with tact & respect, they resorted to insulting & demeaning me by suggesting that I couldn't afford the order. Such behavior is not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive. As a customer, I expect to be treated with dignity & respect, especially when I am paying for a service. In addition to these egregious issues, the overall customer service provided by Talabat was subpar at best. When I attempted to address these problems with their support team, I was met with dismissive responses & a lack of accountability. It is clear that Talabat has little regard for the well-being & satisfaction of its customers, & I am appalled by their lack of integrity. A clear indicator of a company that lacks integrity & respect for its customers.

Talabat is the worst application ever to order food. I ordered a pizza from Akiba Dori, 80 derham a pizza. I don’t know who is more stupid , me for buying that or them for charging. So I ordered at 8pm and after 2 hours of wait, I contacted customer service which took me another 10 minutes. The solution was to cancel the pizza and give a refund + a 10derham gift. I am still starving ! Without food and what am I going to do with this 10 derham? This is unacceptable. Never gonna order again from either Talabat or Akiba Dori. Which was in JBR btw and I live in Dubai Marina. You can do the math. Apparently none of these people could. I’m very pissed right now. The worst service ever.

I wanted to share an update with you regarding my recent experience with Talabat and my order number 1076878817. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, while shopping for groceries, I found that many stores did not check if they had the items in stock, which was frustrating. Moreover, when I ordered from McDonald's, I requested in the notes section and directly messaged the driver to not ring the bell upon delivery. However, the driver ignored my requests and rang the bell twice, causing me to feel quite upset. I also found the customer service resolution to be unprofessional as they only compensated for their colleagues' mistakes and failed to address the underlying issues. Furthermore, I noticed that the driver did not speak English fluently, which may have added to the communication breakdown. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience, and I hope that Talabat can improve their service quality in the future.

They alway mess up my order on Talabat Mart and have TERRIBLE customer care!

They alway mess up my orders from their groceries section and Talabt Mart. And they have TERIBBLE customer care! I made an order on Talabat Mart, where I ordered groceires including sausages and minced beef. They got my order wrong and gave me the wrong amount and types of sausages. They also did not deliver the minced beef I ordered, which I found out the day after when I needed it. I registered this as fast as possible the day after my order, and got a generic answer back from Talabat Customer Care, that did not answer my concern or question - it didn't even say what the outcome was. They just informed me that the complaint was closed as resolved. So I asked them again if they could answer me what the outcome was, or if they would help me get my item or money back. I did this little dance back and forth with them for 3 whole days - where got the same copy-pasted generic text back from them. Finally, after insisting to get a real answer, I got someone calling me today to say that it was too late to do anything about it. This is the worst customer care I have experienced. You should really work on this part of your business. So me and my husband will never use their app again, as you can get better service and better prices on other apps.

Who won the Super Bowl? Usher or Taylor Swift?

At super bowl lviii, the r&b superstar’s maximalist halftime show felt like a victory against the odds.

how to write a review in talabat

How do you steal the show when you are the show? That was the unprecedented pop culture riddle that Usher found himself stepping into during halftime at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Sunday, the resurgent R&B superstar performing for the biggest audience of his platinum-selling life, yet still trying to draw our collective focus away from the centripetal human attention vortex sitting up in the skyboxes, one Taylor Swift.

It should hurt your brain to be reminded that Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has only lasted five short months considering all the ways in which this omni-romance seems to have damaged everyone else’s — especially the tiny, desiccated brains of right-wing media personalities who believe that a bland crossing of celebrity stars is, in fact, a sinister plot hatched deep inside the Pentagon. For Usher, the perversity of the circumstances transformed his halftime task into something beyond formidable. Without appearing to affirm the whiny grunting of assorted high-profile MAGA zombies, he needed to make society forget that he was the second most famous singer in the building.

So he did it by confirming he was the best, his voice seemingly made out of elastic, silk, smoke and sunshine. You had to listen for it, though. This halftime show was a blitz of retinal maximalism with a meticulous protagonist at its center, singing and dancing with exactitude and purpose, working hard to cram more than a dozen songs into just as many minutes. If you were keeping a tally, the message was clear: Usher has hits. Also: Usher has friends. Alicia Keys appeared for a cute duet of “ My Boo .” Longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri materialized to play hype man. H.E.R. and Will.i.am were there, too. During the shriek-and-boom of his boisterous curtain closer, “ Yeah ,” Usher was flanked by Lil Jon and Ludacris, shouting out his Atlanta stomping grounds to the rest of the planet: “I took the world to the A!”

For Usher, outdoing himself is the only way forward

It goes without saying that Usher had been preparing for this — if not from the moment his singing first turned heads in nearby church pews during his Tennessee childhood, then from his tween years in the Atlanta talent show scene where powerful music biz forces began steering him toward fame as if it were preordained. He became a teenage heartthrob, then a wholly respectable R&B artist, then something of a generational talent with the 2004 release of “Confessions,” a masterstroke of an album about the sloppy geometry of love triangles and the shape of R&B to come.

What happened next? “I’m not in competition with anyone but myself,” Usher told a reporter at the height of “Confessions,” delivering a prophecy that shook out two different ways. In the short term, he fell from pop’s apex, releasing serviceable radio hits and appearing on NBC’s “The Voice.” But in 2021, he turned his focus inward, launching a splashy Las Vegas residency where his ramped-up showmanship became the stuff of enthusiastic digital blab and incessant memes. With smarts and discipline, Usher treated this new hype factory more like a training facility. He was finally in true competition with himself, and night after night, the competition became more exponentially steep. By the end of his “My Way” residency last year, he didn’t sound like he’d been reviving his career so much as perfecting himself.

Usher has more to show for those countless hours of Las Vegas refinement than landing this halftime gig, too. On Friday, he dropped his ninth studio album, “Coming Home,” an expansive and scrupulous trove of R&B songs that allow the 45-year-old to bend his voice in unexpected directions (he channels Billy Joel and Young Thug within the space of a few minutes) and then back toward wholly welcome ones (consistent “Confessions”-era precision). Recounting the soft ache of an amicable breakup on “ Good Good ,” his finely-sculpted phrasing communicates total emotional control. During “ On the Side ,” he’s retracing his signature love triangles, but the edges feel cleaner, the angles sharper. Just about everything else on “Coming Home” sounds every bit as expert, too, but the album ultimately feels playful, every syllable seemingly sung through a smile.

Any of these new songs would have sounded fabulous and fitting at the Super Bowl, too, but Usher stuck to his signatures, supplying some of them in captivating one-two punches. He sang “ Caught Up ” and “ U Don’t Have to Call ” with pulse-hurrying zest (sunshine, elastic). He sang “ Burn ” and “ U Got It Bad ” with elegant gravity (smoke, silk). And by the time he got to the serotonin surge of “ OMG ” he was doing laps around the stage on roller skates — a highlight from his Vegas show; now a highlight in the Super Bowl halftime history books. If it looked like the whole world was sliding beneath his feet it was because he was on top of it.
