What is microsoft whiteboard, and how do you use it.

Missing your whiteboard while working from home? Microsoft has an app that's a viable digital alternative.

Quick Links

How to write and draw, how to add images, how to add post-its, how to add documents, is microsoft whiteboard any good.

There's no better visual way to express your ideas than by writing them on a whiteboard. If you're missing it, check out Microsoft Whiteboard! It re-creates the dynamic of that loveable wall of melamine with digital pens, post-its, and more.

A lot of folks are finding that working from home can be productive and enjoyable , but missing the group brainstorming sessions integral to developing and refining ideas. Whiteboards make it easy to express your ideas, collaborate on designs, and teach people new concepts. Sometimes, they just provide a handy place for people to dump their thoughts in a shared area.

Microsoft Whiteboard is a free app intended to re-create this experience. Nothing beats the real thing, of course. However, a digital whiteboard might allow you to do more than you can on a physical board.

Microsoft grasped this possibility and provides templates, as well as allowing you to add images and documents. It's not the same as working in the office , but it offers a lot of the benefits, and fewer of the drawbacks.

The Whiteboard app is available for Windows , iPhone , and iPad . You'll need a free Microsoft account or a paid M365/O365 subscription to use it. There's also a web version  you can use to create simple whiteboards or view those that are shared, but it's not nearly as functional as the app.

Once you've downloaded and opened the Whiteboard app, just click "Create New Whiteboard" to get started.

Click "Create New Whiteboard."

A new, blank board will open you'll see the five controls shown in the image below.

The elements on a new whiteboard.

These do the following:

  • Takes you back to the start page, where you can swap to other boards or create new ones.
• Shows you the sharing options for the board.
  • Takes you to your account details, where you can sign out or switch to another account.
  • Opens the Whiteboard app settings.
  • Opens the creation tools.

We're going to focus on the creation tools, shown below.

The creation tools.

You might notice there isn't a Save button. This is because Whiteboard automatically saves your work as you go along.

To get started, click the Inking tool on the left.

Click the Inking tool.

The toolbar will now display the Inking tools (or pens, to you and me).

The Inking tools.

There are six tools, shown in the image below.

The Inking tools broken down into sections.

Here's what each of these tools do:

  • Closes the Inking tools.
  • The pens you can use to draw on the board.
  • The Eraser tool.
  • A ruler for drawing straight lines at any angle.
  • A Lasso tool for selecting elements on the board.
  • The Undo and redo actions.

Click a pen to start drawing or writing on your board. If you're using a touchscreen, you can use your finger or a stylus. On a non-touchscreen, you can use your mouse or trackpad.

To alter the color or width of a pen, click the black dot at the top of the pan and select from the options in the menu.

The width and color options for pens.

Once you've changed a pen's color or width, it will stay that way every time you return to the Inking tools, no matter which board you're in. This gives you the ability to select your preferred options so they're available every time you use Whiteboard.

The Ruler helps you draw a straight line at any angle. Click the tool, and a ruler appears.

The Ruler tool.

You can change the angle by using two fingers to rotate it (on a touchscreen) or by scrolling the wheel on your mouse (on a non-touchscreen). Select a pen and draw a line against the rule edge for a perfectly straight line.

A line drawn using the ruler.

According to Microsoft, you can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to rotate the angle of the ruler, but we struggled to get this to work. When we tried, it rotated the ruler from 45 degrees to 0 degrees, without any intervening angle, and then stubbornly refused to rotate again.

While you can use the ruler without a touchscreen or a scroll wheel on a mouse, we wouldn't recommend it.

Drag the ruler wherever you want to create a straight line on the board. To hide the ruler, click the Ruler option on the toolbar.

The Lasso tool allows you to select one or more elements on the board. Just drag the tool around the elements you want to select. You can then either move them together or delete them.

The Lasso tool and some selected lines.

If you want to write things on your board, it's easiest to do so with your finger or a stylus on a touchscreen, although you can use your mouse. Whiteboard has a brilliant tool called Ink Beautification that turns your scrawl into an elegant font at the touch of a button.

Write some text, and then select it with the Lasso tool to bring up the context menu.

Some handwritten text and the context menu displayed from the Lasso tool.

Click the Ink Beautification button on the context menu.

Click the Ink Beautification button.

This turns your text into something much more readable, but it's still more like handwriting than a traditional font.

Example text after using the Ink Beautification tool.

Ink Beautification is the perfect example of how this app is sometimes better than a real whiteboard.

When you've finished drawing or writing, click the Done Inking option to return to the creation tool.

Click the Done Inking option.

You can add images to your board as a memory aid, goal, reference point, or simply to have something nice to look at. To add one, click the Add Image option on the toolbar.

Click the Add Image option.

A standard file dialog box will open, in which you can select an image to insert. When you do, it will appear on the board.

An image on a Whiteboard.

Click the image to drag it around the board or resize it.

For many people, a whiteboard wouldn't be a whiteboard without Post-it notes. To add them to your board, click the Add Note option on the toolbar.

Click the Add Note option.

A note will be added to the board with a context menu that allows you to write on it, change the color, and so on.

A Post-it note on a Whiteboard with a context menu.

The same as you can with images, just click the note to drag it around the board or resize it.

Attaching a document, such as a specification or a reference guide, can be invaluable when you need to look something up while creating things on your board.

To add an item, click the Insert menu option on the toolbar.

Click the Insert menu option.

A menu appears with various options you can insert, including documents, slideshows, and lists.

Microsoft Whiteboard is an excellent tool. In fact, it has plenty of options, functions, and settings we didn't even cover in this introduction (but we will in the future). However, even the basics are pretty impressive. More importantly, they all work reliably and easily. The process of creating a board and adding things to it is quick and intuitive.

Microsoft Whiteboard has clearly been designed with touchscreens in mind, though. And this makes sense when you're trying to re-create a free-form physical canvas, like a whiteboard. However, you can use it without a touchscreen, even though "writing" with a mouse can be frustrating.

Overall, this is a fine app. It does what you want it to do, and more---and we can't stress enough how nice the Ink Beautification tool is. If you're hankering to work on a whiteboard, but don't have one around, this is the next best thing!

After you use it for a while---especially with a touchscreen and stylus---you might even prefer it to the real thing.

The 6 best online whiteboards for collaboration

Hero image with the logos of the best online whiteboards

Office work has been back for a year or two, but it's still not how it was before 2020. This means that tools like the whiteboard—a staple of meeting spaces—have officially taken the digital leap. Online whiteboards are necessary because fast, easy, and visual collaboration is too important not to have a virtual option, especially when you can't guarantee all your colleagues will be in the same place on any given day.

I tested dozens of online whiteboards to find the best ones for a variety of needs. I've been working remotely for my entire tech writing career—more than a decade now—so I have a lot of experience with testing apps and actually using online collaborative tools. I'd be happy to work with a team using any of these picks.

What makes the best online whiteboard?

How we evaluate and test apps.

Our best apps roundups are written by humans who've spent much of their careers using, testing, and writing about software. Unless explicitly stated, we spend dozens of hours researching and testing apps, using each app as it's intended to be used and evaluating it against the criteria we set for the category. We're never paid for placement in our articles from any app or for links to any site—we value the trust readers put in us to offer authentic evaluations of the categories and apps we review. For more details on our process, read the full rundown of how we select apps to feature on the Zapier blog .

Almost any sketch or design app can technically be used as a digital whiteboard if you need to bat around a few ideas with your team. If you're sharing your screen over a conference call, you could even use MS Paint. But that doesn't mean a drawing app is the best tool for the job.

Similarly, most online conferencing software and office suites have a whiteboard built in. Zoom has Zoom Whiteboard , Microsoft Teams has Microsoft Whiteboard (which is also a standalone app), and Webex has, you guessed it, a feature called Whiteboard . (Google was a little more creative and called its whiteboard product Jamboard .) But if you're visiting this article, you either don't want to use these built-in tools, you aren't locked into a tool like Microsoft Whiteboard or Jamboard because of your existing work setup, or you need a dedicated online whiteboard tool that offers more advanced or specific features. To that end, I only considered dedicated digital whiteboards when putting together this list, not any app that could be used—or claimed it could be used—as one.

There are a few key features that I felt a great online whiteboard had to have:

Unlimited canvas. While physical whiteboards might have size restrictions, going digital shouldn't come with limits. I was looking for whiteboarding tools that have an unlimited, ever-expanding canvas, so whatever way your visualizations go, they can accommodate them. And with such a large canvas, navigating it needed to be easy. You should be able to zoom and scroll around at will.

Collaboration features. Using a whiteboard—whether physical or digital—is often a collaborative act. I required all the apps on this list to allow multiple users to collaborate in real time. Some apps allow private collaboration between team members, while others allow you to share a link or code so that even non-users can comment or add notes. The specifics didn't matter as much as the feature working as it was meant to.

Ability to attach files. Your digital whiteboard shouldn't limit the kinds of things you can add to it. You can stick a photo or doodle on a real whiteboard, so I felt you should be able to attach links, images, and other files to your web whiteboard as needed for easy reference.

Presentation options. Because whiteboards are so often used for both ideation and presentation, I looked for features that allowed you to present using your whiteboard. This could be sharing your whiteboard online, exporting it, or a dedicated presentation mode. The more advanced the app, though, the more advanced I wanted the presentation features to be.

Accessible everywhere. Whether you're working on your own ideas or collaborating on a shared whiteboard with a team, chances are high that you'd like to have access to the whiteboard even if you're not seated at your desk. This meant it had to be accessible through the web and ideally on mobile devices.

While most whiteboard apps are starting to have—or at least, test—AI-powered features, they aren't yet a major factor for inclusion. Over the next year or two, as AI becomes more mature and the use case becomes clear, AI may well be necessary to make it on this list. But for now, I wasn't overly concerned if an app wasn't yet using AI.

To find the best online whiteboards, I started out with a list of every relevant app that I could find and then compared each one against the criteria above. If an app looked like it could meet them, I tested it to see how it was to use. The specifics of the testing depended on the app, but it generally involved signing up for an account and creating a few different whiteboards to see how everything worked, as well as testing any unique or headline features. Quite a few apps failed out at this step for just being unpleasant to use. The differences between a top-tier web app and one that's badly coded are impossible not to notice.

I then went back and re-tested the top contenders. I also compared the apps to each other: where two (or more) apps offered a very similar feature set, I went with the one that had a better overall user experience or pricing options, or was the more mature product. I've been keeping this list updated for two years now, so every app on it has been reviewed multiple times.

At the end of all the testing, I was left with my six favorite apps—and a few alternate picks that didn't quite make the list for one reason or another. Here they are.

The best online whiteboards at a glance

Best online whiteboard for turning ideas into tasks, miro (web, macos, windows, ios, android).

Miro, our pick for the best online whiteboard for for turning ideas into tasks

Miro is available on any device—and on the web. To get started, choose from a long list of templates (e.g., UX design, customer mapping, and retrospective), or just start with a standard blank whiteboard. And you're not limited to one template: you can add as many as you want to a board, zooming and scrolling with your mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen to navigate through the various templates on the board. Then add shapes, text, and sticky notes (drag-and-drop) as needed.

If you find yourself looking for more features, go to the Miro marketplace , which houses a list of apps you can integrate, allowing you to do things like update Miro cards within your Airtable base, or add a voting plugin that lets each user vote on designated objects.

Miro is built for more than just brainstorming. It also includes a set of features that supports managers who have to guide the process from ideation to implementation. With Miro, you can monitor what changes have been made, assign tasks, and carry on conversations with team members from within the interface. If you want to present the results of your ideation, you'll love how easy it is to select and drag a portion of the board to create "frames," so you can pan through the board in a more organized manner during presentations. (You can also just turn on the screen sharing mode so that all participants can see your screen while hearing your voice over the audio system.)

You can do even more with Miro by using Miro's Zapier integrations . Automatically create a card on a board in Miro whenever you have a new task, entry in a spreadsheet, or form submission.

Best online whiteboard for creating multiple boards in a single brainstorming session

Stormboard (web, ios, android).

Stormboard, our pick for the best online whiteboard for creating multiple boards in a single brainstorming session

Stormboard is a sticky-note-style ideation tool that handles the basics really well. It's simple for anyone to drop notes or index cards with text, pictures, and even videos onto different sections of the board. But each digital sticky note can also house its own whiteboard, opening up a world of opportunity for big picture brainstorming and collaboration. As soon as you create a new Storm (brainstorming board), you can start adding your ideas. Any sticky note can then turn into a collaborative whiteboard that all collaborators can view and edit in real time.

Using Stormboard solves one of the major problems in any brainstorming or collaborative meeting: how to save each iteration so that it's easy to review and revise moving forward. To organize, drag each whiteboard note around the board with your mouse. Board collaborators can then vote on each board, carry on a text chat conversation, and even assign tasks.

Because Stormboard integrates with Zapier , you can even automate your whiteboarding, creating new Storms or ideas based on activity in other apps. Or you can automatically send your ideas, comments, and tasks from Stormboard to other apps.

Stormboard pricing : Free for the Personal account that includes 5 open Storms and 5 collaborators per Storm; from $10/user/month for the Business plan that includes unlimited open Storms.

Best online whiteboard for big remote team meetings

Mural (web, windows, macos, ios, android).

MURAL, our pick for the best online whiteboard for remote, multi-member team meetings

The Mural canvas can house multiple whiteboard areas, similar to Photoshop artboards, that you can rearrange and resize as needed. On each whiteboard, you can go with the standard blank white background, or choose from a variety of templates to add pre-built grids and content boxes for some additional structure. Many of the templates come with detailed instructions and facilitator guidelines, which makes getting started with Mural really quick. The recently updated user interface is also a joy to use.

Mural is particularly strong as a team tool, letting you create multiple "rooms" for your whiteboards, each with different permissions to limit access. You might have one room for your design team, one for your marketing team, and so on. You could also create rooms that correspond to various projects.

Remote teams who use Mural for meetings will love the digital version of some office staples , from timers (which you can use for focused ideation sprints ) to chat boxes. It can be tough to share candid feedback in remote team meetings. That's why I liked MURAL's timed voting session, where you can allot a number of votes to each collaborator. To vote, click on an object on your whiteboard. Every vote is anonymous and tallied automatically.

Mural also integrates with Zapier , letting you do things like automatically create new tasks in your project management tool based on your whiteboards or create new Mural stickies based on form submissions.

Create Mural stickies from new Google Form entries

Google Forms logo

Mural pricing : Free for 3 murals with unlimited members, from $12/user/month for the Team+ plan .

If you're looking for a Mural alternative, I also liked Lucidspark . It lacks some of Mural's polish, but it's a serious contender.

Best online whiteboard for teaching students remotely

Limnu (web).

Limnu interface

If you're used to having a physical whiteboard for your presentations and brainstorming sessions and are reluctant to go all-in on digital, you might lean toward Limnu . It feels so much like a real whiteboard that you can almost smell the markers. (Just make sure to practice writing with your mouse or trackpad!)

But Limnu does a lot more than give realistic marker drawings: it also includes collaboration features that make the jump to teaching online feel much easier. To invite others to view your board, click on the share icon and copy/paste the link. You can even limit their permissions to view-only, if you want. Since your virtual students don't need to go through a lengthy signup process to join your whiteboard, you don't have to worry as much about tech headaches blocking your teaching session.

Limnu pricing : Free plan available with 14-day access to whiteboards; from $5/month for the Pro plan ; $8/user/month for the Team plan that includes team boards

Best online whiteboard for annotating design files with a team

Invision freehand (web, ios).

InVision Freehand, our pick for the best online whiteboard for annotating design files with a team

Although InVision Freehand is a capable alternative to Miro and Mural for any team, a lot of its best features are still aimed at designers. You can sync your Sketch, Photoshop, and Figma files or create mockups using the built-in wireframes, and get real-time feedback from teammates and stakeholders. Each logged-in user appears as an icon on the top-right corner of the whiteboard, with a dot indicating the color of the "ink" for their markups. Adding text and uploading files is as simple as a click of the mouse on the top toolbar.

When the Present option is selected, all collaborators on the board can sit back and watch as the focus stays on your own cursor, or get walked through a series of pre-configured "Frames." The downside: Freehand doesn't include any group chat tools, though you can communicate through comments. You'll have to have another app lined up for visual, audio, or text communication outside of the board drawing.

InVision Freehand pricing : Free plan available for 3 editable boards; from $4.95/user/month for the Pro plan with unlimited boards.

If your team uses Figma, check out FigJam . It's a super solid whiteboarding app that integrates with Figma—it just didn't have the presentation options I was looking for.

Best online whiteboard for brainstorming

Ayoa ultimate (web, ios, android).

Ayoa Ultimate, our pick for the best online whiteboard for brainstorming

I've loved Ayoa's modern approach to mind mapping for the past few years, so I was excited when they started adding whiteboards to the app. This is the first year the feature has been developed enough to break the list—but it makes it on with style.

Whiteboards are part of Ayoa Ultimate , which is the plan that also includes mind maps and task boards—both of which can be integrated with any whiteboards you and your team create. You can add mind maps to your whiteboard or send digital sticky notes to any of your task boards, and vice versa. If you aren't going to go all in on Ayoa's other workflow apps, the whiteboard features probably don't justify the $13/user/month price tag, but if you're looking for a complete solution that combines brainstorming, task management, and whiteboards for presenting and managing everything, it's the app to look at.

Given the high price, it's no surprise that Ayoa is one of the nicest apps to use. The user interface is both functional and great looking, there are lots of nice touches like an auto-generating presentation mode and super solid templates, and the company's commitment to supporting neurodiversity in the workplace is laudable. Given how fast the company continues to develop new features, I expect it to be an even stronger option the next time this list is updated.

Ayoa Ultimate pricing : From $13/user/month, billed annually

Which virtual whiteboard should I use?

Because almost any app can be used as a whiteboard app, the best whiteboard app comes down to the features your team wants the most. If you don't need anything specific, but your team uses Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or Google Meet, then the best option is probably the one that's built in to the software you already use every day.

On the other hand, if you're looking for dedicated online whiteboard software that offers more integrations, advanced features, and customization, then one of the picks above is probably a better fit. They all—in their own ways—offer a great collaborative whiteboard experience.

Onboard vs. On board

Photo of author

| Grammarist

Photo of author

Onboard is one word (sometimes hyphenated — on-board ) when it comes before the noun it modifies (e.g., onboard radio , onboard computer ). Elsewhere, writers usually make  on board two words. For instance, one might write, “We brought a radio on board so we could have an onboard radio.”

If it helps, think of it this way: the two-word  on board usually means the same as aboard , and  aboard would usually work in its place. Aboard would not make sense as a replacement for onboard . Try it with the examples below.

Writing on the board

on writing board

How can the board (whiteboard) be used in today's learning environment? It could be the single most used resource in the classroom, and you'll probably find one in every classroom you enter, be it physical or electronic. Most web conferencing applications have a board that the teacher and students can use to collaborate during a learning session.

What is the best way to use a resource like this?

of using a board include its ease of use (apart from a Smart Board) and low cost. By using a whiteboard, students can easily see the build-up of an idea or concept (e.g. by using diagrams, solving problems. etc. They can also be involved in drawing or writing on the board. It is great for mind mapping!

Can you think of a few more advantages or disadvantages?

At a tertiary institution, you are most likely to find a whiteboard in the physical and virtual classroom. Reece and Walker (2007) make the following useful points about whiteboards.

  • They have better visibility, especially when using whiteboard markers of different colours.
  • Whiteboards give the classroom a brighter atmosphere.
  • Whiteboards can be used as display screens using a data projector, but beware of glare!
  • Most whiteboards can also be used as magnetic boards.
  • For the uninitiated, it can be more difficult to write on the whiteboard because of its low surface resistance.
  • It is good to practise writing on one before your first class.

Donald Hornstein's (2012) video clip on Using the whiteboard (1.39 min) is also worth watching. Beware he uses the term 'kids' but you do get to see how he uses a whiteboard.

On Board or Onboard – What’s the Difference?

Home » On Board or Onboard – What’s the Difference?

When you are safely aboard a vessel, like a cruise ship, are you onboard or on board ?

What about when you agree with someone’s inspiring plan to save the world? Are you onboard or on board ?

Actually, the answer to both of those questions is the same. On board and onboard have distinct usage cases, and both of those examples just happened to be situations where on board is correct.

Confused yet? Don’t worry—I’ll explain it all below.

What is the Difference Between On Board and Onboard?

In this post, I will compare on board vs. onboard . I will use each term in at least one example sentence, so you can see them in context.

Plus, I will show you a helpful memory tool that will make choosing on board or onboard a little easier.

When to Use On Board

On board versus onboard

Here are two example sentences,

  • While on board the aircraft, please refrain from smoking cigarettes.
  • Kevin often gets seasick while on board seafaring vessels.

On board has a synonym, aboard , which can be a more fluid choice in some instances. It means the same thing, but is shorter and simpler.

When to Use Onboard

What does onboard mean? Onboard can be an adjective or a verb .

As an adjective , onboard means attached or integral , especially when referring to a vehicle’s equipment. An onboard computer , for instance, is a computer that is built into the design of a vessel.

For example,

  • Ashlynn bought a new car, and she was careful to choose one with onboard GPS to help her navigate.
  • The onboard navigational system helped pilots choose the fastest route without wasting fuel.

On boarding or onboarding

Onboard can also be a verb, where it is HR-speak for hiring and training new employees . It is usually conjugated as the present participle onboarding in phrases like the onboarding process .

  • The company-wide transition to an online application tool will significantly streamline the onboarding process.
  • The new onboarding process replaces meaningful, one-on-one mentoring by experienced coworkers with an extensive library of outdated, poorly produced training videos.

Onboarding or On boarding? If you are part of a team that gets new employees acquainted with their roles in the company, the term you are looking for is onboarding . In this sense, onboard can be a noun or a verb.

Is onboard hyphenated? Occasionally, you might see the one-word onboard spelled as a hyphenated compound: on-board . In fact, some spellchecks flag onboard as an error in favor of on-board .

Depending on your company’s style guide, you may or may not be required to use the on-board over onboard. The general trend, however, appears to be favoring the closed compound.

Trick to Remember the Difference

On boarding vs onboarding

  • Use onboard as an adjective before the noun it modifies.
  • The phrase on board is an adverb or a prepositional phrase, and it usually goes after a verb.

Since onboard is a single two-syllable word, like before , I predict you will experience only minimal difficulty remembering to use onboard before nouns.

Is it onboard or on board? These usages contain all the same letters, but they should be kept separate.

  • Onboard is an adjective that means attached , and a verb that means to acclimate new hires to a new company .
  • On board is an adverb or prepositional phrase that means safely aboard a vessel or in agreement .

Here's an example of a freshly created whiteboard that’s ready for your ideas:

Whiteboard creation tools

Left side : Here, you will find the ability to select pointer or inking mode, as well as expand or collapse the Create panel. The Create panel lets you add items to your board, such as sticky notes, text, images, shapes, and more.

Top center : This is where you will find the different ink options available. There are three pens that you can choose from, you can customize their color and thickness, and choose whether the pen draws arrows. You can also find the highlighter, eraser, and lasso tools here. Use the latter to select multiple items on the board.

Top left : Here, you can select Home to go back to the board picker, undo or redo your last action, or change the name of your current board.

How do I collaborate with others on Whiteboard?

Collaboration is the heart of Whiteboard, and here’s how to do it:

In Microsoft Teams : While in a Teams meeting, you can share a whiteboard from the Share tray, or you can also prepare your board ahead of time and then present it. In a Teams channel or chat, you can add a whiteboard by selecting the +  button at the top of the screen, and then searching for Whiteboard . For more information, see How to use Whiteboard in Microsoft Teams.

How do I interact with Whiteboard?

You can use Whiteboard on almost every device — whether you use a mouse and keyboard, screen reader, touchscreen, or a pen.

For example, you can use your Surface Pen to fully unlock drawing and erasing on your Surface device, a stylus or your finger to interact on a touchscreen, or your mouse and keyboard and let Whiteboard’s ink beautification feature make your lines and shapes look perfect.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is opening up her emotional state during the pandemic .

Taylor Swift Fan Killed in Car Crash While Heading to Eras Concert in Australia

Halfway through her Eras Tour stop at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday (Feb. 17), the 34-year-old pop superstar paused to reflect on being “lonely” while writing her 2020 album, Folklore , during the COVID-19 lockdown.

“[I was] imagining that, instead of being a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine, I was a ghostly Victorian lady wandering through the woods with a candle in a candlestick holder,” Swift said in a fan-captured video before performing her song “Betty.”

Trending on Billboard

“I wasn’t expecting to make an album. Early on in quarantine, I started watching lots of films. We would watch a different movie every night,” she told Entertainment Weekly . “I’m ashamed to say I hadn’t seen Pan’s Labyrinth before. One night I’d watch that, then I’d watch L.A. Confidential , then we’d watch Rear Window , then we’d watch Jane Eyre .”

She added, “I feel like consuming other people’s art and storytelling sort of opened this portal in my imagination and made me feel like, ‘Well, why have I never done this before? Why have I never created characters and intersecting storylines? And why haven’t I ever sort of freed myself up to do that from a narrative standpoint?’”

Swift and Alwyn split last April after six years of dating.

Swift’s three-night stand at Melbourne Cricket Ground launched Friday (Feb. 16) and wrapped Sunday (Feb. 18). Next, she’s scheduled for back-to-back concerts at Sydney’s Accor Stadium (Feb. 23-25). Other international stops include Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Europe and Canada.

CBSE 12th English Board Exam 2024 tomorrow: Last-minute teacher's tips

Here are some last-minute tips given by class 12 english teacher for students who will appear for cbse class 12 english board exam 2024 tomorrow..

Listen to Story

Last minute CBSE Class 12 English board exam 2024 tips and tricks.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has scheduled the Class 12 English board examination 2024 for tomorrow, February 22. With less than 24 hours left, Class 12 students are now revising the syllabus, and attempting sample papers and previous years' question papers.

LAST MINUTE CLASS 12 ENGLISH BOARD EXAM 2024 TIPS:

  • English Core paper is divided into three sections: Section A is the reading section (20 marks), Section B is the Writing skill section (20 marks), and Section C is the Literature section (40 marks).
  • Attempt the paper in the order of the three sections.
  • If you want to change sections A, B, and C, don't change the order of the questions within the section.
  • Questions 1 and 2 are the comprehension passages.
  • Give 40 minutes to Section A.
  • Use the 15-minute reading time on the two comprehension passages
  • Give 45 minutes to Section B.
  • All questions are for 5 marks.
  • Learn and prepare the format of notice writing
  • Job application letters are time-consuming. If you are not aware of the educational background of the job, then do not pick it. Instead, go for the letter to the editor. It is a safer option to pick.
  • Express your views and add a personal element to your article and report writing.
  • Read your literature textbooks every day.
  • Be direct to the point while writing your answer. If your answers have value points, you will score well.
  • Be thorough with your pros and poems.
  • CBSE has started giving questions on common thematic portions from various chapters. Examples in the poems: Both, My Mother at 66 and Aunt Jennifer’s Tiger are related to women in our society. Examples of chapters: Both, ‘Lost Spring’ and ‘Going Places’ talk about dreams and aspirations.
  • Try to do a comparative study between them and study them thoroughly.
  • Solve CBSE sample papers a day or two before the examination for effective time management.

CLASS 12 ENGLISH SAMPLE PAPERS

CBSE has also released the sample papers for all the subjects of Class 10 and 12 on its official academic website. Class 12 students can visit cbseacademic.nic.in to check and practice the Class 12 English sample paper.

Board Exams 2024: Out-of-syllabus topic or error in question paper? CBSE issues new protocol to address it | Read here

Whatsapp

Board Exams 2024: CBSE issues a new protocol to address out-of-syllabus questions or errors in exams this year. Check the new rules and regulations here.

Students appear for the class 10th CBSE exams today.

Are you appearing for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams this year? If yes, then this news update is for you, in case you have found an out-of-syllabus question or an error in the paper. The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a new protocol to address the issue during board examinations 2024.

Students become more worried and stressed when they come across an out-of-syllabus or a wrong question in the paper. However, the board has found a way to easily resolve it. Raise your query as per the new protocol given below.

CBSE Board Exams 2024: What to do if error found in question paper?

- You must notify the invigilator of any incorrect or out-of-syllabus question as well as any other errors you find on the question paper right away.

- The supervisor will then mail your doubts to the relevant Board authorities.

- Taking into account the disparity, a new marking system will be created. The updated protocol states that the information provided by teachers of Classes 10 and 12 will be used to create the marking scheme.

- Instructors are supposed to send the question paper to CBSE along with a review report.

- It is necessary to prepare and submit this report to the Board on the day of the examination.

- This report needs to include information about the exam's difficulty level, any errors in the paper, the print quality, and whether or not the questions were based on the syllabus.

The class 10 and 12 exams for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began on 15 February across the country and 26 other countries. As per the CBSE, this year, more than 39 lakh students from India and 26 other countries will take the exam.

The board examinations for Class 10 will conclude on March 13, 2024, and Class 12 board exams will finish on April 2. In 2023, a total of 38.82 lakh students appeared for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.

  9. How to Use Onboard vs. on board Correctly

On board. Onboard is one word (sometimes hyphenated — on-board) when it comes before the noun it modifies (e.g., onboard radio, onboard computer ).
