CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway is a Windows app that allows reporters to send the realtime feed to clients using the CaseViewNet Windows App, iCVNet, or CaseViewNet Browser.  Clients can be on or off site.  As long as you and the clients have an internet connection, they can receive the realtime feed.

Cloud Gateway works with CATalyst and other CAT systems by using a virtual serial port to send the feed via CaseViewNet Cloud.  The clients uses CaseViewNet Windows, iCVNet, or CaseViewNet Browser to connect to the Cloud and receive the feed.

The reporter does need to purchase a Session Code which can be purchased on our website or by giving us a call .

If you use CATalyst and have both a CaseViewNet License and Session Code, you can use the Session Code from inside CATalyst. Our article about Starting a CaseViewNet Cloud Session will show you how.

NOTE: If you are using CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway with Stenograph Bluetooth for the Luminex & Luminex II , you will need to install Gateway first then Stenograph Bluetooth, otherwise you will receive a COM port error when using Cloud Gateway.

Installing CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway

The CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway program is installed on the same computer as your CAT software.

Download CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway.

Navigate to where Gateway Setup.exe was saved (usually the Downloads or Desktop folders) and double click on it. Depending on your Windows settings, the Open File – Security Warning dialog box may display. Click Run to continue.

At the Welcome screen, press click Next .

Gatewaywelcome.png

At the Choose Install Location screen, click Install .

Using Cloud Gateway

Make sure your CAT system’s PC has a working Internet connection.

Double click the CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway icon on your Desktop.

gatewayicon.png

The CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway dialog box displays.

gatewaymain.png

At the top of the dialog box, make sure Input from COM Port is unchecked.  Also make a note of what COM Port is shown in the Connect your CAT software to serial port: COM X .  You will need that COM Port number for your CAT software.

Click the Connect button .  The Session Code & Password dialog box displays.

gatewaycode.png

Type your Session Code and create a password.  The password can be as simple (1234) or complex (Simone40caseview) as you'd like.  The connecting clients will need this password to receive the realtime feed.  Click OK .

The Session Code & Password dialog box closes and returns to the previous dialog box.  The CAT software output status: section will say No Data Received...  This will change once you start a realtime file.

You will also notice the Connect button has changed to Disconnect and the CaseViewNet Cloud Status: has a green dot along with the word Connected below.  You can minimize the window.

gatewayconnected.png

Open your CAT system and elect the appropriate options to output to CaseView. Be sure to use the same COM port specified in the CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway dialog box as the COM port you are outputting via CaseView.

Now start a new realtime session.

Share your Session Code and password with the clients who will be connecting to this realtime session using either CaseViewNet, iCVNet or CaseViewNet Browser.

Continue writing realtime. The CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway dialog box displays a few lines of the realtime data as you write.

When the realtime session is complete, be sure to end the CaseViewNet Cloud session by clicking the Disconnect button. At the Are you sure? dialog box, click OK.

gatewaydisconnect.png

Things to know:

The next time you start CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway, the Session Code and password is remembered so you can click Connect followed by OK .

If you disconnect from CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway and then reconnect, the clients will need to start a new file.

Only the last 5 lines of realtime will refresh with editing changes if your CAT vendor chooses to support the feature

Recipients will always be allowed to save the transcript

Is CaseViewNet exclusive to CATalyst users?

CaseViewNet is for everyone! Virtually all CAT software can send to CaseViewNet via serial cables or an Internet connection with CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway.  Cloud Gateway uses CaseViewNet Cloud Session Codes to send your realtime text to local and remote participants via an Internet connection. Cloud Session Codes have flexible pricing to fit the needs of officials, freelancers, CART providers and firms. Visit the CaseViewNet Cloud Session Code purchase page for full pricing details and to buy.

Is CaseViewNet secure?

CaseViewNet uses 256-bit encryption over a secure connection from your computer to your clients so it is very secure.

For more information about CaseViewNet's security, check out our article here .

What is the difference between a CaseViewNet License and a Cloud Session Code?

Caseviewnet license.

A CaseViewNet License is a CATalyst only solution that allows clients to receive the realtime feed through a local network connection.  Usually all the clients are in the same room.  This is done through either a Ethernet (wired) or Wi-Fi (wireless) connection.  Clients connect to the reporter using either the CaseViewNet Windows app or the iCVNet app for iPad.

Cloud Session Code

Cloud Session Codes allow clients to receive the realtime feed from any CAT software using the internet.  Clients connect to reporter using either the CaseViewNet Windows app, the iCVNet app for iPad, or CaseViewNet Browser Edition.

Are CaseViewNet licenses and Session Codes separate purchases or can I purchase both at the same time.

CaseViewNet licenses and Session Codes are separate purchases but when you purchase a CVNet license, you can add a session code for a discounted price. You can purchase just the CaseViewNet license or just the Session Code if you like.

Can I use a Cloud Session Code and use Realteam at the same time?

Most definitely!  Simply connect to Realteam and use your Cloud Session Code as you normally would and you're ready to go.

How do I use CATalyst to wirelessly send CaseViewNet Realtime to remote viewers?

You can do this with CaseViewNet Cloud. To access the cloud, you and the remote participants must have an Internet connection, a CaseViewNet license and a CaseViewNet Cloud Session Code. Cloud Session Codes have flexible pricing to fit the needs of officials, freelancers, CART providers and firms. Visit the our CaseViewNet page for details.

Our article on Starting a CaseViewNet Cloud Session will help get you up and running.

How do I connect remotely with a CaseViewNet Cloud Session code and iCVNet/Browser/Windows App?

Our Solution Center article, Connect to CaseViewNet With a Session Code , will show you how to get all your clients connected.

I do not have a CaseViewNet License, how do I send my realtime feed to a client using iCVNet/Browser/Windows app?

With an Internet connection, the Cloud Gateway app, and a Cloud Session Code you can wirelessly send to CaseViewNet without a CaseViewNet License.

The article CaseViewNet Cloud Gateway on the Stenograph Solution Center page will show you how to establish a connection.

Can I output to viewers in the same room via a Wi-Fi router and use CaseViewNet Cloud to output to remote attorneys at the same time?

Yes. Since you will be connected to a Wi-Fi router for local realtime you will want to make sure the router has Internet connectivity for the CaseViewNet Cloud remote connections.

How do I use CATalyst to wirelessly send CaseViewNet Realtime to viewers in the same room?

With Case CATalyst and a CaseViewNet license you can use a Wi-Fi router to output CaseViewNet to recipients in the same room. If you are a Case CATalyst user and do not have a CaseViewNet license, please visit our for CaseViewNet site for details and to order.

Our article on Starting a Local CaseViewNet session will help get you going.

How do I connect to a local Wi-Fi realtime session with CaseViewNet for Windows or an iPad?

You will need to download and install CaseViewNet Windows app before installing.  Our guide on Connecting to Realtime Through a Local Connection will show you the steps.

Can I output to CaseViewNet over the Wi-Fi router and output using a Serial Cable at the same time?

Although CaseViewNet is compatible with most litigation support software, an attorney may still insist on using their own realtime viewer. You can output using a serial cable/StenoCast and CaseViewNet Wi-Fi at the same time.

In the CATalyst Translate dialog, select CaseView in the “Output To:” drop down field.

In the Translate dialog, click the Options button.

Click the Output to CaseView tab.

Configure the CaseView II Options for serial output

Check the box next to Output over comm port .

Select your output Com Port

Make sure the Direct (Cable) radio button is selected.

Click Apply and then OK to save the settings.

  • Complete your normal process for realtime translation.

Can the viewers have the Internet while connected to my Wi-Fi router for CaseViewNet?

Yes. The LinkSys and TP-Link Wi-Fi routers sold by Stenograph have an Ethernet input port. This is a common feature available on most routers. If the court or deposition location has wired (Ethernet) Internet access available, connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your Wi-Fi router. Internet access will be available to anyone connected to your Wi-Fi router.

About that AMC Networks class action lawsuit settlement email. Here's what it means to you

Amc networks, which operates streaming services such as amc+, acorn tv, allblk and sundance now has settled a class action suit filed by subscribers who say their data was improperly shared..

case net app

If you subscribed to and streamed AMC+ or any of its other video networks you may have an award coming your way.

You may have already gotten an email about the settlement in a class action suit filed against AMC Networks, which operates AMC+, as well as the Acorn TV, AllBlk, HiDive Shudder and Sundance Now streaming services.

Several subscribers to AMC+ and the other services filed the suit in January 2023, charging the company with disclosing subscribers’ personally identifiable information – "PII" – to other parties via third-party tracking technology without users' consent. AMC Networks and attorneys for the subscribers reached a settlement agreement in December and the settlement administrator recently began emailing possible settlement class members.

Listeria outbreak: Salad kit from Bristol Farms now included in recalls

AMC will pay $8.3 million to create a settlement fund and will quit using or modify the use of tracking technologies so as they will not violate the Video Privacy Protection Act, which prohibits video services from knowingly disclosing consumers' PII to others without their consent. AMC denies any violation in the settlement, but the parties have agreed to the settlement to avoid trial.

How do I know if I am part of the AMC Networks class action settlement class?

If you subscribed to any of the services and watched content from Jan. 18, 2021, through Jan. 10, 2024, you are eligible.

Most have probably gotten an email. If you haven't seen the email, check junk mail folders, too.

If you still cannot find the email, you can submit a claim by April 9 directly on the settlement website ( www.amcvppasettlement.com ), or download a claim form on the site to send in.

How much could the settlement award be?

The settlement notes that the final payment amount cannot be calculated until after the plaintiffs' settlements are awarded, court-approved attorneys’ fees and expenses are determined, and other costs are paid following the May 16 final-approval hearing.

However, with a potential settlement class of 11.4 million subscribers – that's how many subscribers AMC Networks had at the end of 2023 – the award could amount to less than $1.

The semi-good news? The settlement gives all those whose claims are submitted and approved a one week subscription to AMC+.

The alternate option, as one person on Reddit suggests : "Everybody should send a letter in and decline the money. And start a bigger class action and sue for more. Really make these companies pay for illegally selling our information. … $8.3 million is chump change for them."

The special prosecutor in Trump's Georgia case says he's no longer dating DA Fani Willis

  • Special prosecutor Nathan Wade testified he's no longer dating Fulton County DA Fani Willis.
  • Willis appointed Wade to lead the Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump in 2021.
  • A judge will determine whether Willis should be removed from the high-profile criminal case.

Insider Today

ATLANTA, Georgia — Nathan Wade , the special prosecutor Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hired to lead the state’s 2020 election interference case against former President Donald Trump and his allies, testified on Thursday that he’s no longer dating the DA.

While under questioning by Trump’s lawyer Steve Saddow during an evidentiary hearing in Fulton County Superior Court, Wade said that he and Willis ended their relationship in the summer of 2023.

“Have you had a personal relationship at all, and you know what I mean by that, after the summer of 2023,” Saddow asked Wade, who replied: “Are you asking me if I had intercourse with the district attorney?”

“The answer would be no,” Wade continued.

Wade testified that he and Willis remain “very good friends” and said that the two are “probably closer than ever because of these attacks.”

“But if you're asking me about specific intercourse, the answer is no,” Wade added.

Willis, in her own testimony, confirmed the relationship ended in the summer. They had stopped being physical in the early summer, but have a "tough conversation" officially ending it around August, she said.

The court hearing — which could result in the removal of Willis from the election interference case — comes after an attorney for one of the co-defendants in the case filed a motion alleging that Willis had an "improper" romantic relationship with Wade that began while he was married and before she appointed him as special prosecutor.

The motion, filed by Ashleigh Merchant, a lawyer for former Trump campaign staffer Michael Roman, called for Willis to be disqualified and the charges dropped. The attorney accused Willis of benefiting financially from hiring Wade because he paid for them to take extravagant vacations.

Attorneys for Trump, along with several of his co-defendants have also joined in on the motion filed by Merchant.

Earlier Thursday, Wade testified that his romantic relationship with Willis began in around March of 2022 — after Willis appointed him in November 2021 to lead the probe into Trump and 18 of his allies' efforts to overturn Trump's Georgia loss during the 2020 presidential election.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee will determine whether Willis should be disqualified from the election fraud case on the grounds of a conflict of interest.

Wade said that after his first contract with Fulton County DA’s office expired in November 2022, he signed a second contract with the DA’s office soon after returning from a trip to Aruba with Willis, who he says at that time he was already in a relationship with.

Trips like the Aruba vacation are central to the arguments laid out in the motion by Roman’s attorney, which alleges Willis benefited financially from hiring Wade because he took her on trips.

In his testimony on Thursday, Wade said that Willis paid her share and paid him back, oftentimes with thousands of dollars in cash. Wade said that he has no record of the cash paybacks because he had other sources of cash being deposited in his accounts.

For a cruise, Wade said Willis paid him before they traveled, and for other trips, Wade said Willis would pay him back during the trip.

Before Wade took the stand on Thursday, a longtime ex-friend of Willis', Robin Yeartie, testified that she had "no doubt" in her mind that from 2019 to the last time she spoke with Willis in March of 2022, Willis and Wade were in a romantic relationship, which contradicted what Wade also said in a previous affidavit.

Earlier this month, Willis admitted in a court filing to having a relationship with Wade , with her attorney arguing that the efforts to disqualify her have "no merit" and "should be summarily denied without an evidentiary hearing."

An affidavit from Wade was included in the court filing in which he also admitted to having a relationship with Willis, but he claimed that there was not a "personal relationship" between them before he was appointed as a special prosecutor in the election case.

Willis appointed Wade to the case on November 1, 2021 — one day before he filed for divorce from his wife.

Willis took the stand and fought back against the allegations involving herself and Wade

Later Thursday, a fiery and visibly frustrated Willis was called to the stand where she took the opportunity to defend herself and Wade and push back on the claims by her former friend that she and Wade started dating in 2019.

Willis said that she had known Yeartie since 1990 or 1991 but that they did not maintain "a consistent relationship that whole time."

"I have not spoken to Robin in over a year. I certainly do not consider her a friend now," Willis said, adding, "There's a saying, 'no good deed goes unpunished,' and I think that she betrayed our friendship."

Willis confirmed that she took over Yeartie's lease in 2021 and paid the rent to Yeartie mostly via Cash App. Willis said she moved out of the residence in early 2022.

During her testimony, Willis fought back against Yeartie's claims, and insisted, like Wade, that their romantic relationship began in 2022.

Willis also backed up Wade's testimony, saying that for any trips they took together, she paid him back in cash.

"I have money in my house," Willis said, explaining that her father had instilled in her to always keep at least six months of cash worth in the home. She said she does not keep that much in her house, though.

Willis testified that she never gave Wade more than $2,500 cash reimbursement at one time.

Under questioning by Merchant, Roman's lawyer, Willis snapped back, "You've been intrusive into people's personal lives. You're confused; you think I'm on trial."

"These people are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020. I'm not on trial, no matter how hard you try to put me on trial," Willis said.

This section provides the steps to deploy a continuous integration/continuous delivery or deployment (CI/CD) pipeline with Jenkins to validate solution operation.

Create the resources required for Jenkins deployment

To create the resources required for deploying the Jenkins application, complete the following steps:

Create a new project named Jenkins.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

In this example, we deployed Jenkins with persistent storage. To support the Jenkins build, create the PVC. Navigate to Storage > Persistent Volume Claims and click Create Persistent Volume Claim. Select the storage class that was created, make sure that the Persistent Volume Claim Name is jenkins, select the appropriate size and access mode, and then click Create.

Deploy Jenkins with Persistent Storage

To deploy Jenkins with persistent storage, complete the following steps:

In the upper left corner, change the role from Administrator to Developer. Click +Add and select From Catalog. In the Filter by Keyword bar, search for jenkins. Select Jenkins Service with Persistent Storage.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

Click Instantiate Template .

Error: Missing Graphic Image

By default, the details for the Jenkins application are populated. Based on your requirements, modify the parameters and click Create. This process creates all the required resources for supporting Jenkins on OpenShift.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

The Jenkins pods take approximately 10 to 12 minutes to enter the Ready state.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

After the pods are instantiated, navigate to Networking > Routes. To open the Jenkins webpage, click the URL provided for the jenkins route.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

Because OpenShift OAuth was used while creating the Jenkins app, click Log in with OpenShift.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

Authorize the Jenkins service account to access the OpenShift users.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

The Jenkins welcome page is displayed. Because we are using a Maven build, complete the Maven installation first. Navigate to Manage Jenkins > Global Tool Configuration, and then, in the Maven subhead, click Add Maven. Enter the name of your choice and make sure that the Install Automatically option is selected. Click Save.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

You can now create a pipeline to demonstrate the CI/CD workflow. On the home page, click Create New Jobs or New Item from the left-hand menu.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

On the Create Item page, enter the name of your choice, select Pipeline, and click Ok.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

Select the Pipeline tab. From the Try Sample Pipeline drop-down menu, select Github + Maven. The code is automatically populated. Click Save.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

Click Build Now to trigger the development through the preparation, build, and testing phase. It can take several minutes to complete the whole build process and display the results of the build.

Error: Missing Graphic Image

Whenever there are any code changes, the pipeline can be rebuilt to patch the new version of software enabling continuous integration and continuous delivery. Click Recent Changes to track the changes from the previous version.
